I have written a children's picture story book because I believe in encouraging young people to be who they were created to be, and not to change in order to blend in with the crowd. It is my dream that this book can one day help young people who may be facing issues such as these.

The storyline of the book, The Nerdy Birdy, centres around Ned; a very smart bird who gets teased simply for being himself. One bully, in particular, makes life hard for little Ned - trying to bring him down whenever he can. The message of the story is that we are all strong in our own ways; we have have different talents and things that make us shine. The book (for children aged 5-8) celebrates our differences, and encourages kids to look beyond what they initially see.

Along with talented illustrator, David, I am excited to see what will happen if this project can be fully funded, and come to life. Our aim with this picture book is to inspire young children to be themselves; and to use the skills that they have.
