My name is Jaime McDougall, and I am a US expat living in regional Australia. Like many, I have always loved stories - especially creating them. One of the first stories I wrote was a single page long and was about how my brother killed the world with a nuclear taco fart. It's been all uphill from there; I promise.
Thanks to a lot of help from some wonderful people, including my amazing teachers, this year I was able to work past health issues to start a professional writing and editing course at a local TAFE. My course will finish up at the end of 2013, but the novel class I took this year helped me to finish Fading Echoes.
About the Project
Most of us have seen self-published books with horrible, slapped-together covers. Or self-published books that would have been fantastic if they had only been polished by a professional editor. I don't want this novel to be one of those books.
Fading Echoes started out as 80+ pieces of paper on my desk and turned into a finished novel with the help of supportive friends and chocolate.
Fading Echoes is the longest, most complex novel I have ever written. I know it can truly shine with both an amazing cover as well as the touch of a professional editor. Due to a string of emergencies, I'm not able to accomplish this on my own. I need help.

Fading Echoes Synopsis
Charlotte Peterson is the first of her kind in Echo Falls: a
werewolf child of two naturally born werewolves. But being a ‘pure bred’ feels
like a curse as she struggles not only to fit in with normal human beings but also
to meet the expectations of her pack. Scarred by her past, she is unable to
forget and struggles to move forward with her life.
Dr. Adam Baker arrives in Echo Falls and becomes friends with Charlotte despite having secrets of his own. He soon discovers that some families in Echo Falls have no medical files, including Charlotte’s family, and his questions begin to drive them apart. Both new and old friendships are tested as Charlotte struggles with wanting to share the burden of her secrets and the need to protect her pack.
Charlotte’s suspicions become a driving force as Compass, a company that tracks and kills werewolves, continues their genetic search to isolate the genes responsible for werewolf abilities. Calvin Stephens, National CEO, is focused on rising high in the Compass family and, following a trail twenty years old, he sees Echo Falls as a testing ground that will take him to the top.
The race to discover the secrets of Echo Falls forces Charlotte to choose between obeying her pack and following her heart.
