Over the years I have been gathering information about organizations, businesses, groups and individuals from around the world who are influential in the survival of our Oceans. While doing this I have met, both in person and virtually (thanks to the internet), some amazing people. 

My plan is to take this growing collection of names and information to create the Ocean Guardians Directory and to share their inspirational stories though the Ocean Guardians Magazine . . .


I am dedicated to growing The Ocean Guardians Directory into the most comprehensive online source for those searching for ways to get involved or to support fellow ocean lovers. Our Directory is not to be in competition with any business, organisation or established directories.

We are launching the Ocean Guardians Magazine in Feb which will start off being online then once we are able to will also go to print. The intention is to provide the online version free to the global community of ocean lovers. Once the Mag goes to print these will be for sale but the online will remain free to download.

People can sign up for a free subscription where I will be emailing them when each issue is ready for download but it will be available on our website and on facebook without the need to join our mailing list or as a member of Ocean Guardians. We give full permission for the magazine to be freely shared via email and to be printed.

We encourage the use of the Magazine printed in whole or in part to be used as a teaching tool in schools etc to share the message by those feature in the publication. All copyright does remain with Ocean Guardians and the contributors and photographers. The file will be suitable to print from your home printer in either colour or black and white but will not be suitable for enlargement to protect the photographers copyright. 

The goal is to reach as many people across the globe to unite the world for our oceans. The focus of the magazine is to raise awareness and inspire action for the oceans. Content will be sharing the various things being done around the world for our oceans in a positive way.

Promoting the initiatives being done while also interviewing some the people from businesses, organisation and groups to give the personal side of saving our oceans. There will be some heart-warming story's sharing the success and interaction with people and marine life as well as sharing some real facts about what concerns us about the oceans. No blood guts and gore, just the truth to the best we can provide.

I hope to empower people to reach for their dreams as well as inspire others to do something, no matter how seemingly small.

For the readers and contributors of the Ocean Guardians Magazine I hope to provide:

“Pride” for what people are doing and what believe in;
“Enthusiasm” for scuba diving, freediving, ocean exploration, research and conservation;
“Love” for the oceans and marine life;
“Hope” that we Can make a difference.

My dream is simple: I want to Unite the World for our Oceans!

There is no doubt in my heart that I can achieve my dream on my own... eventually.

But being self funded limits the speed in which I will achieve it and this is why I ask for the help and support of fellow Ocean Lovers. Time is Money so naturally the more money raised the better we can make it ALL happen!

If you would like to $upport us with a considerable amount and would like to discuss a customised "reward" I look forward to hearing your idea.

This crowdfunding campaign is all or nothing meaning if we do not reach our goal we do not get anything, this is why I have set the asking amount low. This will not cover all costs but will help ease the burden to help get the project started. Of course the more money raised the faster and more professional the outcome!

Funds raised through this campaign will go toward the following:
$ Labor cost of formatting the layout, writing, and editing the Magazine.
$ Fees payable to experts to ensure files are suitable for various download options (PC, smart phones and tablets)
$ Distribution costs for a professional email–marketing service to notify those on our mailing list when each issue is released and how to access the magazine. 
$ Labor fees for the Web Design and functionality of the Directory
$ Equipment and programming upgrades
$ Training

Dependent on amount raised we would love to have the magazine go to print.

We are taking applications for The Directory listings and will have the framework of the directory online by the end of Feb 2013.

Work is already underway on the first issue of the Magazine (Jan/Feb 2013) which will be launched in early Feb 2013 regardless of the funding outcome of this campaign.

Ideally I want the Magazine to be released on a monthly basis but it is a huge job to complete each issue so until things are up and running the goal for 2013 is a Minimum of 6 issues Jan/Feb ~ March/April ~ May/June ~ July/Aug ~ Sept/Oct ~ Nov/Dec 

Dependent on funding and what YOU want the Magazine to be available in, it will come to life in the following forms:

The first step for the Magazine will be in a PDF format - free to download, print and share.

With additional funds I can have the Magazine suitable for Tablets (iPad etc) and Smart Phone (iPhone etc) which I wish to also provide free to download and share.

If you want to advertise or run a several page spread for something please contact me and we can make a custom reward for you!

The exclusive Honorary Ocean Guardians T-shirt is currently being designed. You will have your choice of Men's/Unisex, Ladies Loose Fit or Ladies Slim Fitted T-shirts in sizes XS - 5XL so there will be one for every Ocean Guardian! Will be proudly printed in Australia by Ocean Guardians.
