My project call 'Nemesis'  is to build the first ever Australian designed snowboard which incorporates smart  innovation and cutting-edge design. I believe that I can make a great 'all-round' snowboard for all conditions. I have completed the technical designs stage and require funding for prototyping, this involves creating molds which cost about AUD2500 to AUD3000 per size. There will be 3 sizes (148, 155 and 158). This is where I require the financial support to complete this project.

The Nemesis snowboard will feature artwork by Australia's leading artist, Jason Bowman (www.freakdesign.com). This board will incorporate advance composites and environmentally sustainable materials such as carbon fibre and bamboo. Thus making this snowboard lighter and stronger. What makes this snowboard special is its performance. It is designed similar to a skateboard which makes this board easy to ride and perfect for beginners. Another unique feature of this snowboard is its shape (see below diagram) which enhances dynamic riding situations (increased aerodynamic surface).  This shape will combine aggressive and elegant styling.

The Nemesis Project embodies art and science.  I believe that this snowboard can take on the best and win in terms of innovation, performance and product  excellence. I believe this project is worth supporting because it will showcase the best Australian designers and artists. It will also prove to those 'knockers' that we can make  great snowboards from a country that is more famous for its beaches than snow.  Call me crazy (and maybe I am) but I want Australia to have am international reputation of making some of the most innovative snowboards in the world because we are willing to take risks.

This project embodies the Aussie spirit that we will give anything a go and succeed. My dream is to see an Australian designed board ridden by an Aussie rider in major international snowboard events like the Winter X-games and Winter Olympics. Currently our top riders are sponsored by foreign brands like Burton etc.  We are producing great riders in Australia like Torah Bright who won the Olympic Gold Medalist for the women's halfpipe. Why don't we have an Australian snowboard brand making similar impact on the world stage? I am doing this project because I believe that I have a great product which given the opportunity will make the international snowboarding industry sit up an take notice.  And if successful, I will be sponsoring the next generation of Torah Brights.
