About the Project:
Behind the Mic is a documentary project on the Voice Over Industry Worldwide. We plan to interview a range of people in the industry, some seasoned professionals and some just starting out. We will take a peek into home studios as well as bigger production studios.
As the demand for different talent varies from country to country we would like to travel to the East and West Coasts of the United States as well as the UK and parts of Europe and Asia finishing off in Australia. Because of this we believe this documentary will have worldwide appeal to both members of the industry as well as the curious public.
The public will get to know the people behind the voices they hear everyday as well as other stakeholders of the industry. We aim to showcase a the entire industry including Animation Voice Actors, Movie Trailer Voices and TV Promo Voices along with Commercial and Corporate Voice Talents.
Having attended the Voice 2010 Conference on Los Angeles in 2010 I met some great voice talents from all over the world and discovered that like myself everyone had their own story to tell on how they found themselves in this industry and that they are only to willing to share. While Voice Over seems to most as an easy way to make a living most Voice Actors work extremely hard on a daily basis auditioning for jobs and if they win them work to tight schedules to complete them. The public will see both the struggles and disappointments as well as the triumphs.
Why am I doing this? The simple answer is I love the industry and everyone I know in the industry loves it too. And when the world see's what it's all about they too will fall in love.
