Circus Stars is a specialised Circus training program for children with Autism. Founded by Youth Circus trainer Kristy Seymour, Circus Stars provides an alternative to physical therapy, promotes self confidence, creativity and team work. Circus Stars aims to reach as many children as possible, if only to bring joy and fun and possibly change their lives by improving their physical well being also. Circus Stars is growing rapidly and needs support to purchase extra equipment to further the opportunities of training, and to increase the class development overall. This support will help bring new and exciting skills and fun to children who need and deserve to shine, who crave the chaos and creativity that circus offers. By supporting this campaign you are helping to bring light and laughter to children with autism and helping them to grow and develop their motor skills through active play.

How The Funds Will Be Used

NEW BUDGET: dreaming a bit bigger!! Thanks to your generous support I have stretched my goals out to acheive as much as possible by the end of the campaign! Trapeze bars x 2: $500- trapeze helps to develop left and right brain and gross motor skills! Aerial Hammocks x 2: $200- autistic children find swinging and spining relaxing and are obsessed with making the "cocoon" in the aerial hammock, its calming for them. sensory juggle balls x 12: $60- juggling develops the same pathways in the brain that support reading and hand writing, these type of juggling balls also tap into the sensory awareness as they are very tactile. Space rental support: $ $240- space rent adds up quickly! A bit of help here would make a HUGE difference ORIGINAL BUDGET: The funds will be used to purchase the following equipment: balance beam:$50 safety mats: $300 juggling and balance objects: $180 aerial equipment: $170 and tumble mats: $250

The Challenges

The risks I see with the success of the project are managable., the basic risk being I do not reach my funding goal. I see that if I cannot reach my total goal of $950 then I can at the very least go back to my budget and project plan and prioritse what equipment Circus Stars needs most and push the funds towards it. Obviously a lot of my own money ( all of it actually) goes into providing the equipment and space hire for Circus Stars. So I am used to re-budgeting and making things work. I feel that I will have a great deal of support from both the circus community and the autistic community to acheive this goal. There is a real need for this kind of therapy for autistic kids and I am determind to make Circus Stars grow no matter how great the risk or challenge.
