Psychedelic noise juggernaut the Paul Kidney Experience has been assaulting the eardrums of Melbourne in its current incarnation for four years. Fronted by the eponymous charismatic weirdo and supported by an ever-evolving cast of freaks and ne’er-do-wells, the band has carved out their own niche in the local scene and collaborated with legendary kraut-rock pioneers Mani Neumeier (Guru Guru), also playing support with the likes of Damo Suzuki (Can) and Mudhoney (USA).

Paul Kidney’s impeccable noise heritage includes masterminding such cult 80s and 90s freak-grunge bands as Southern Fried Kidneys, Kiss My Poodles Donkey and Monroe’s Fur. The PKE is a moveable feast featuring members of the Grey Daturas, Baseball, The Stabs, Infinite Decimals, Dead River, Faspeedelay and Jihad Against America.

ACOUSMA is a live recording of the Experience in full flight in December 2012, made at Kindred Studios under the watchful eye of sound engineer James Alexander Dean. After releasing our Flowerpunk and Radio Transmissions albums on CD as well as a split with Aktion Unit and a 2011 release with Mani Neumeier, the PKE is finally ready to commit to vinyl with its most luxuriant and mind-expanding recording to date.

ACOUSMA has already been acclaimed by Julian Cope after a sneak preview, who declared "Gentlemen, your new album is fucking excellent, highly useful and needs nothing but a proper patron behind it" (Head Heritage October 2013).
