Last year, composer/pianist ade ishs ran a successful crowdfunding campaign for the debut album by his Trio with drummer Chelsea Allen and bassist Daigo Nakai. The jazz album garnered positive acclaims, including rave reviews by the most respected jazz radio channel in Australia, ABC Jazz, and Australia’s leading jazz online magazine, AustralianJazz.net. Thanks to the high-resolution recording and mastering, it was also used by some hi-fi manufacturers during the Australian Audio & AV Show 2013 to demonstrate the strengths of their equipments alongside legendary recordings by greats such as John Coltrane and Miles Davis.
Now, ade and Chelsea team up again under the moniker The ishs/Allen Project. In the jazz band’s core line up are bassist Paul Bonnington and trumpeter Ee Shan Pang. They started performing in 2013, and only within one year, they were already actively performing around Melbourne, notably at Paris Cat and The Maven (formerly known as Live @ Baker Street), and during the period of this campaign, they are having gigs at Paris Cat, Castlemaine Jazz Festival, and Open Studio.
The band is now ready to go to the studio to record their debut album. It will contain original compositions in various jazz styles, including latin, funk, and rock. Producing a high quality recording is by no means cheap. Therefore, the band needs your help, and you will be rewarded handsomely by helping the band achieve their target!

How The Funds Will Be Used
Here are the estimated costs of our project (we only include the costs to generate the product we intend to deliver, and we exclude distribution, promotion, etc.):
* Recording: $3,000.
* Mixing: $900.
* Mastering: $500.
* CD Replication: $1,300.
Total: $5,700. However, we only ask $4,500 from you so that we can get going.
* STRETCH GOALS FOR PLEDGES BEYOND THE TARGET *
If we can get more than the minimum amount we need, we will use the additional funding to improve the quality of the album and more marketing and publicity. We hope that they will translate to more sales, which can also mean more recording in the future.
Extra $500 (total $5000): Online marketing (Facebook) and posters.
Extra $1000 (total $5500): More marketing and better CD packaging.
Extra $2000 (total $6500): The above + a music video.
Extra $5000 (total $9500): East coast Australian tour
