DirtyFeet has a new dance project lined up in March 2014 - 'Out of the Studio'. It brings together two of our strongest programs, The Choreographic Lab and The Right Foot, both supporting choreographers and dancers at the beginning of their career. The Right Foot is an intergrated dance program providing opportunities for artists with and without disability.

Out of the Studio gives choreographers from each program the opportunity to present a first draft of their work at Shopfront Contemporary Arts & Performance. Choreographer Rob McCredie will represent The Choreographic Lab, and Winston Churchill Fellow Sarah-Vyne Vassallo will represent The Right Foot.

Out of the Studio dancers are Christopher Bunton, Amy Mauvan, Matthew Massaria, Natalie Pelarek, Melinda Tyquin, Ivey Wawn and Rosslyn Wythes.

"Out of the Studio" has received support from Arts NSW, Shopfront Theatre for Young People and FORM Dance Projects. We still need to raise $2000 to employ an artist support worker - an essential part of a successful integrated dance project.

The $2000 raised will be used to employ an artist support worker to assist two artists in the project with disability. An artist support worker provides artists with disability the extra attention, support and guidance and they need to reach their creative potential in the studio.

If we are unsuccessful in this fundraising campaign, artists with a disability will not have the best opportunity to achieve their full potential creatively in the project. The responsibilities of the artist support worker will fall to the Choreographer and other dancers in the project. The project will still be delivered, however extra support will mean artists with a disability can participate in the project at the same level as their peers and allow the rest of the team the space to focus on their creative roles.
