The travel documentary series 'Being Overseas' evolved out of video footage I had taken while in Europe on my first international overseas trip. This was purely out of my love for capturing images as my background is in cinematography and photography.
The main intention of having the footage was to document the wonderful places I had visited. Initially this was for myself and friends however after sharing it with everyone my little travel diary became a documentary series on SBS ONE. (Surprisingly it got there!)
I have made two more episodes on Japan since (in total 4 half hour episodes so far) and I can't stop now as the travel bug has well and truly infected me! Moving forward the plan is to travel to the epic and breathtaking country of New Zealand to share my travel experiences with you.

I plan to travel the North and South Islands from the Bay of Islands though Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown with several fascinating locations along the way (too many to list). This series when complete will be submitted to SBS again for national broadcast. With your help this can happen!

How The Funds Will Be Used
The funds will thoughtfully be used to cover flights from Melbourne to Auckland / Queenstown to Melbourne, accommodation in Auckland, Christchurch and on the way
to Queenstown, comprehensive travel insurance, car hire on North Island and South Island, bus tour on the North Island starting from Auckland and finishing in Christchurch (11 days), campaign expenses, fundraising costs and credit card surcharges. It's all accounted for and specifically calculated - nothing more and nothing less.
The Challenges
I can foresee some obstacles during the filming of the New Zealand episodes, most of which are out of my control! I might find myself in some bad weather which will make shooting great content more challenging, but this just reflects the realness of the travel experience of which I want to bring to my audience. I want to steer away from the commercial travel show formula, as travel isn't always about sunny skies and 5 star accommodation! This isn't the first time I've done this so I am very confident I will make the New Zealand series entertaining and engaging for your viewing pleasure. The link above with episode 2 of Japan will give you a good idea of how it will look, however I have heaps of new ideas to make it even better!
