'Frontier' - Short Film
'Frontier' is a Western/ Thriller set in the 1800s, a time when the most bloody and deadly of massacres in Australian history took place.
Written and Directed by Alexandra Edmondson, this 15min short film was shot on the Red Epic (thanks Panavision!) over two days in mid-January, in Camden NSW. The project has attracted a largely female based creative team and a cast that features Madeleine Madden (Generation One, Redfern Now), Tim Walter (STC, Company B, Bell Shakespeare), Alfred Coolwell (Redfern Now) and introduces nine year old actress Carys Hakin (who we think you'll see a lot of in the future)
We've started a Pozible campaign to generate an additional $6,000 to help complete post production of the film.
We need your help to put 'Frontier' on the screen!
Crowd funding isn’t about big, grand donations (although we'd appreciate that too), it is about small donations by lots and lots of people - spread the load! If everyone we know donates $15, we will meet our target in no time!
SYNOPSIS
Gracie is the eight year-old daughter of a white settler. While exploring she discovers Toora, an Aboriginal woman and her baby hiding in the stables near their house. Gracie believes Toora is playing hide and seek but the sinister truth is that Toora and her baby are the sole survivors of a massacre perpetrated by Gracieʼs father, William.
Toora is badly injured and cannot escape the homestead without being seen and she knows that there will be certain death for her and her baby if she is discovered. Playing along with Gracieʼs game is Tooraʼs only hope of survival, but Toora knows it is only a matter of time before Graceʼs father discovers their hiding place.
Frontier is a story of innocence and survival set in a time of brutal conflict.
