THE GOAL
I want to build a something cool that I can take to parties but also impress friends and family and convince my local university to let me use their science lab.

ABOUT THE DEVICE
A Farmsworth-Hirsch Fusion Reactor or Fusor for short is a device that shows how inertial electrostatic confinement reactors (IEC) use kinetic energy to cause fusion.

THE BUILD
I will be following the build instructions published by Dan Spangler of Makezine.com as I feel he has the most economical DIY model along with some slight personal adjustments of my own. I will be taking lots of photos and documenting everything from purchasing the parts, to putting them together to turning the device on for the first time. The video will be featured on my YouTube channel for the world to see.

REWARDS
Not having much money to begin with I can not offer great incentives as some other projects and I find the best gifts are those that are handmade so I'll be offering things that are lying around my garage and also offering shout outs on my YouTube channel when the making of video is uploaded. However for that one enthusiast that pledges my entire goal amount you'll get a 2007 iMac complete with a two thirds working screen (easily fixed but I think it gives it character) along with a cool shard light that you can see below.

How The Funds Will Be Used

My goal is $350, this will cover most of the hardware expenses such as the tube and aluminum block and bolts. The most costly part being a scientific electrical transformer however if I raise more than how much I need I will be able to purchase better components and ultimately make a better device.

The Challenges

I will do my best to stick to my time line, I always find spare time to complete my projects and I will keep everyone informed on the timeline of the project and expect the physical rewards to be delivered long before their due date even if the video lags behind. I thank you all for your understanding and helping me with my project.

HYDROGEN - Thank you for helping me out, you get bragging rights to know you helped someone build a fusion reactor.
