Dearest Friends,
Big news! I've just started work on my third album, and I'm over the moon to say that I've been working with my friends Pete Thomas, Steve Nieve and Davey Faragher - otherwise known as Elvis Costello's band The Imposters!
I first met these fine gentlemen in L.A. while I was there creating my last album, The Still And The Steep. We've kept in touch - and now we're making an album together! It was thanks to many of you beautiful folks that I was able to open a few more doors and spend some time recording and spreading my musical wings over in the USA. In short, it was an amazing experience making that album, and now it's time to follow those dreams a little further down the line. I've spent the past 12 months touring around Australia with the last album, meeting more wonderful folks everywhere I go, and writing new songs & making plans for a new album. Now, once again I've been presented with another beautiful opportunity..
I’ve always loved the way The Imposters work together – they’re a really amazing unit, a rare thing, like The Band or Crazy Horse. Pete and Steve were both members of Elvis' previous band The Attractions. Tom Waits has said of The Imposters "Grooves wide enough to put your foot in, and the bass player is a gorilla of groove.. Pete Thomas, still one of the best rock drummers alive." And the Sydney Morning Herald just published this great interview with Pete and Steve.
IT'S SOUNDING AMAZING SO FAR, I CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO HEAR IT!!! But as always – and such is the nature of that strange beast, the music business - the only uphill battle for an Independent Artist like me is financing an album in advance - the production, release and marketing costs are huge, and I need to gather all the resources I can.
