Greetings potential donors!

Global Reddit Meetup Day (GrMD), is a tradition where Redditors gather in one large herd, just because we can - It's Arbitrary Meetup day! This is a chance to meet those silly internet strangers, or say hi to some old friends, or just be a part of the social mayhem. Other Redditors in various cities across the globe will be doing the same!

This time around, we are offering up the ability to have some noms (food) while you are there!

This project is specifically designed to help us fund the cost of the night time event, held on this day. The $400 covers;

$140 - to buy 12 pizzas (vegetarian style included), to line your stomachs before indulging in beverages.
$60 - for extra finger food and,
$200 - to hire security for the front door.

Food prices are based on from scouting around the area. We are getting all these items purely at cost level for us and not for profit, but this means the prices may change slightly by the time the actual event rolls around.

Where: Where exactly is this event being held? We have secured a small semi-1950's themed bar at 95 Queen St in Melbourne's CBD. It's a short walk from Flinders Street Station, and is located two doors down from where the 2013 event was held. It has a maximum of 300 capacity, and we're anticipating over 150 attendees this year!

If we manage to raise over $400, the excess will be used as a bar tab for the night, and to help with the day event, which is a picnic at Flagstaff gardens*.

Other costs, including prizes, are solely being footed by the hosts.

When: Of course, this event will be held on June 14th, starting at 6pm sharp. Unfortunately, as this is a licensed nightclub, those underage will not be able to attend. Please watch this space for the family-friendly event.

If we do not meet our target set, then no food will be supplied on the night and it will be up to the attendees to feed themselves before arrival. The event itself is mostly funded already (except security guard hire). If we do not reach our goals, the organisers will need to fund these fees themselves.
