Marmalade skies is a simple concept. Bring a group of people together, then bring along all their mates. Invite your community to discover the best new Australian music in an idyllic country festival atmosphere. Throw in sunflower fields, inland beach parties, a shearing shed dance party, art installations, craft beer and cider stalls, and a huge stage packed with tunes till the early hours and you’re well on your way to seeing what we see. FAQ's:

What is Marmalade Skies Festival?
Marmalade Skies Festival is Australia’s newest boutique music festival. It is 2 days, 2 nights of awesome people, good times, and great music. It is an escape from city life to a weekend of freedom in country NSW.

When is it?
12-14 December 2014. Gates will open at 2pm on the Friday and we’ll be repainting the sky blue at 2pm on Sunday.

Where is it?
Marmalade Skies Festival is located on an incredibly beautiful property just outside of Goulburn, NSW. The full details will be released closer to the date but it is roughly 2 hours from Sydney and 45 mins from Canberra.

How do I buy tickets?
The first release of tickets are only available through Pozible. This campaign will run for 3 weeks until 16/09/14. After this point, if any tickets are left, normal tickets will be on sale.

How many people are going to be there?
For our first year we are capping ticket sales at 1600 people. Get in early as we are going to sell out and no tickets will be available at the entrance.

Who is playing?
Marmalade Skies is about the experience of a boutique festival and the ability to discover new acts that will change your perspective on Australian music. There will of course be excellent headliners lined up that will keep you dancing into the small hours. The first line up will be announced the day the Pozible campaign ends.

How do we get there?
The festival is very easily accessible by road and standard two wheel drive cars will have no problem. There’ll be beautiful signs a long the way to guide you – follow the Marmalade jars. We are also looking into putting on some buses from both Sydney and Canberra. More info on that later.

Do the normal tickets ($105 and $135) include camping?
Yes all tickets allow you to pitch a tent in our idyllic fields, the VIP camping will be an area roped off of the flattest land in the best possible location.   

I don’t like camping.
Firstly that’s not a question. We really encourage people to camp in order to get the full festival experience of waking up to those bacon and egg rolls and Bloody Mary’s at 7am, however, if you are determined to have a comfy bed and a hot shower there are several hotels and motels located in Goulburn, which is only 15 mins away from the front gates. We will provide links later.

Can I bring a motor home or a caravan?
No sorry, the fields are not set up for this.

Is the festival fancy dress?
Wear what ever makes you happy! Best Marmalade themed costume wins two tickets to next year!

What should I bring?
We will do a full packing check list closer to the date, keep your eyes on the Facebook page and the website.

Is Marmalade Skies Festival 18%20?
Yes. Sorry but for our licence the festival will be an 18%20 event only; I.D will be checked on entry.

Can I bring my own Alcohol?
The short answer is we hope so. We are currently working with the local council and police to have the campsite a BYO area. You will not be able to take drinks into the actual festival but we love the idea of everyone sharing a beer while helping each other put up their tents. Regardless, drinks inside the festival will not be expensive. We really strongly reject the grossly inflated drink prices that some other festivals have. As long as the bars are open you will be able to get a drink for $5.

What kind of drinks are you selling?
As we said above we will have a range of no frills standard drinks available for $5. We are also arranging to have a few boutique beer and cider breweries create a pop up bar at the festival. There might even be some Australian Spirit companies as well. We will keep you posted, we just have to taste test them all first!

What about food?
We are getting a selection of food trucks to come and cook you their delicious food on site. Not only is it delicious but also it is very reasonably priced with most options around the $10-15 mark. By all means bring a packed lunch, everybody loves squashed sandwiches.

Are there ATM’s on Site?
Highly unlikely, bring cash dollars!

Will there be mobile reception?
Some, but not a lot. Turn your phone off and let the festival guide your body through the haze of tunes and burnt skylines after taking some delicious instagram pics

How do I get around the festival?
It certainly isn’t a huge trek from the campsite to the festival, you can walk across the festival grounds in 5-10 minutes and savour some of that fresh country air!

Can I Bring my dog/cat/lizard/Llama?
No sorry no pets/ animals can be brought to the Festival. The site is a working farm during the other months of the year. Besides in our experience pets don’t mix well with loud music and flashing lights.

Can I volunteer to work for a free ticket?
Yes, we have a limited number of volunteer tickets, however volunteers are still required to buy a ticket, which will then be refunded after they have completed their shift. Please email [email protected] with any relevant experience and whether you have an RSA or Security Licence.

I’m in a band/ I’m a DJ, we/I would be interested in playing, who do I get in contact with?
Our line up is nearly complete however we are always happy to have a listen to new acts and even if there isn’t space this year we already compiling a list for year 2. Email [email protected].

Are you having any market stalls at the festival and am I able to sell my things there?
Yes we have an funky array of little stalls that will be set up at certain times throughout the festival. Email [email protected].

Why are all the tickets not nice round numbers?
We are giving $5 from every ticket we sell to the Rural Fire Service. We are not claiming to be a charity festival but these guys are an organisation very close to our hearts that play a very important role in our country - especially with Marmalade Skies Festival being located in such a fire prone area we believe these guys deserve our support. We will also have a couple of tubs around the festival if people wish to drop in a little extra.

 None of the Marmalade Skies Festival Team are being paid first year. For us this whole project is for the love of music and parties however, there are a lot of people who need to be paid. These areas include, but are in no way limited to;

And most importantly – our Musicians

The risks of creating a new music festival from scratch might seem enormous on the surface – we are confident we have assembled an incredible team of event managers, production managers, bookers, volunteers, external operators, and passionate directors that will create a perfectly wonderful and unique experience at Marmalade Skies. This festival is self funded from its inception, and thus early ticket sales are paramount to us fully realising our vision. We have a number of contingency plans considering this, and have a great event lined up regardless of our operating budget. We are very confident this idea will resonate with our audience!
