Darwin Brooks - DIRECTOR
Darwin is a Gold Coast based filmmaker with 15 years of professional experience in the domestic and Hollywood industries. One of Australia’s best credentialed Assistant Directors, Darwin has worked on feature films ranging from Australian independents to mega-budget spectacles helmed by some of the world’smost talented directors including: Three time Oscar winner Oliver Stone’s ‘Alexander’ Oscar-nominee Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Australia’ and ‘The Great Gatsby’ Two-time Oscar nominee and three-time AFI Award winner Bruce Beresford’s ‘Mao’s Last Dancer’ Oscar winner Stephen Gaghan’s ‘Syriana’ as well as Cesar and two time BAFTA winner Mike Newell’s ‘Prince of Persia’. ‘The Railwayman’, ‘Ghost Ship’, ‘Peter Pan’, and so many more. In 2010, Darwin was invited to join the elite Directors Guild of America, the peak industry body for film directors worldwide. Ashley Pardey - PRODUCER


Ashley Pardey is one of our hard working Producers here at Long Shadows.
Well known in the industry throughout Central and South-East Queensland, Ashley's introduction to the Film and TV industry, started with work experience at Channel 7's 'Seven Local News' in Rockhampton, before moving to Townsville to work with them as a news camera operator/linear editor.
Later moving to Brisbane he took up two years of film studies, graduating last year from QPIX. He has worked in a variety of roles on a variety of films with a variety of people, notably 'Rise', 'Charlie's Farm', 'White Lines', 'The Heist', 'Letter to Annabelle', 'Australiens' and most recently, 'San Andreas', starring The Rock.
Last year, he was involved in producing a few projects, co-producing a short film called 'Disc of Love' and the QPIX short film 'The Heist'. He was also associate producer on the NRL web series 'White Lines', filmed in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.
For the past two years he has been working on a feature film script called 'High Rise', but being so busy with everything else he says that still needs a bit of work before it's finished!
Ashley is well known to help on any set that requires crew but he likes to get in front of the camera as well! He has done some acting and extra work, his first role being in a short film called 'Swot'.
Ashley is a native of the small Queensland town of Moura.

Jessica Magro - PRODUCER

Jess is one of our Producers here at Long Shadows. She brings with her a great passion for filmmaking, having made her first short film at the age of 10! She continued to study Film and TV throughout High School, then walked straight into a position as an Assistant Video Editor when she left school. She went on to study at QPIX, where luckily for us she discovered producing. Since then she has produced various music videos and short films, including 'Heart of a Thousand Souls.'
Whilst completing her Diploma of Screen and Media at QPIX, she continued to work in different filmmaking departments including Camera and Script Supervising, which gave her the opportunity to work on projects like 'Letter to Annabelle', 'Yardstick'', 'Simon3', as well as PA work with Production Company 'Wild Fury' on the 6 part TV series 'Save Your Life Tonight' which will be airing on the ABC. 

Darrell Plumridge - PRODUCER


Darrell Plumridge, has acted on stage and screen for the past 30 years in over 20 stage plays, and over 85 films including shorts, independent features, web series' and television commercials. His impressive resume includes recent work such as the recent Dances With Films Grand Jury award winner, THE SUICIDE THEORY, the LONG SHADOWS feature film pitch trailer (Darwin Brooks), BEYOND REDEMPTION: SP...ACE CAPTAIN (Paul Day) and twice with horror aficionado Chris Sun (CHARLIE’S FARM; DADDY’S LITTLE GIRL)
A well-known and highly respected figure in Queensland film-making circles, Darrell involves himself in many projects, usually in key roles such as directing and producing. He also lends his experience and expertise in a number of film-related web forums.
Darrell has a wonderful ability to bring a character to life, always striving to give each role honesty and believability. He believes the audience should feel for that character in some way whether it be fear, love, disgust or hate. Lifting a character from a page and creating its beating heart and soul is what Darrell believes acting is all about.
Darrell is a father of 4 wonderful children—two boys both studying at university and two school-aged girls. He manages the family engineering company, and in his spare time coaches junior AFL. Darrell aspires to act professionally one day but for now it’s just something he loves doing.

Geoff McLeod - DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Owner and founder of Sputnik Films, Geoff has over the last twenty years built a wealth of experience creating, filming and directing television commercials and music clips. Just recently he was Director of Photography on  the Long Shadows Teaser Trailer, and before that, Director of Photography on feature film 'Rise' and its trailer, 'Rise of the Underdog'. Working for many national and international brands, Geoff combines his extensive knowledge of lighting and colour to create emotive cinematic work for the feature film and advertising industry. 

Linda Millar as Regan Sinclair!
Linda is a Scottish born Australian actress who after an absence from acting due to the busy life of a mother, has been making some huge inroads into her craft since returning in 2010, with roles in a few feature films including “Rise” (2014) and “Yardstick” (2014) as well TV roles on the ABC's “Parers War” and Channel Ten's "Secrets and Lies”, as well as numerous Short films.
Linda is a very talented actress who will bring a great depth and warmth that will undoubtedly bring our main character of Regan to life on the big screen. We are very excited to have her as part of our amazing and extremely talented cast. Linda also has a wonderful Scottish accent, and it just so happens so does Regan.
Not only is Linda a talented actress, she is also a gifted writer, and is the brains behind Long Shadows. This is the first time one of her screenplays has been made into a movie, and she is thrilled at the prospect. Linda also played a huge role in producing the trailer and getting the project off the ground.

Joss McWilliam as Sam Sinclair!


Joss McWilliam is Sam Sinclair. Joss is one of Australia's most highly regarded performing artists with 30 years experience behind him in TV, Film and Theatre. His list of credits are many and varied, and they include: H20 - Just Add Water, The Coolangatta Gold, Pacific Drive, The New Adventures of Skippy, Water Rats, Home and Away and Blue Heelers to name but a few. We are greatly privileged, and humbled, to have a talent like Joss work with us on our project.

Maeve McKenna as Skye Sinclair!


Maeve brings a wonderfully natural acting talent to our project. Having started out doing amateur theatre productions during her high school years, Maeve has since completed training under industry professionals such as Joss McWilliam and Martin Sacks. She has also appeared in a Colgate TVC and various short films. A current student of filmmaking herself, Maeve loves stepping behind the camera and is constantly storyboarding, filming or editing footage (or carrying large boxes of gear!) and absorbing teachings from local and international filmmakers
