I'm going away for a month to do my Hip Hop Yoga teacher training. I'm already a qualified yoga teacher but this style, is on a complete different level!
It is yoga to hip hop beats! It's seriously the best thing I've done. Check out this clip to get a bit of an idea..
what's hip hop yoga? So many people say to me, they're not flexible enough for yoga.. it's too boring.. i don't have time.. That's all bullish*t! This yoga is not about being flexible, it's sooo much fun, and if you have time to scroll through your social media accounts each day, you have time to set aside this for you!

I started yoga to help with my anxiety.. I am a major stress head, and the breathing technique has definitely helped me become a more chilled individual. So this yoga, combining sick beats with amazing flow for your body, is the ultimate for me! Anyone who scrolls through my instagram account,
@kahlia will probably have picked up some vibes that I haven't been 100% happy lately... The last 18 months have been pretty hectic for me personally and I'm at a point where I really am not coping that well. I've moved all over the place, had a bazillion jobs.. I have been socially withdrawing and it is nothing to do with the people around me. I know that I have the most amazing and supportive people around me but I know this is something I need to do. I really need time away, and learn to make time for myself. I really struggle to keep my phone away and really struggle to say no! By going to do this course, it will give me time to myself and to get myself back on track..
Once I have completed this course, I am going to run monthly charity yoga classes with proceeds gong to help awareness of mental illnesses. This is something really close to my heart, as I am dealing with it myself and I know how deeply it has affected some others also. I work as a Youth Worker, so am dealing with young people struggling with these issues. I also have my Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) so have a bit of an understanding what is going on.. It's not just being sad!!
I feel that Hip Hop Yoga is a fun way of helping people, as well as helping myself =) I think it's a rad and an approachable way of participating in yoga, in a non-intimitdating environment.

I am definitely not in a financial position to be taking over a month off work unpaid! Even though, I am having the epic opportunity of travelling to do this course, I am going to be so broke when I get back.
Any funds I receive, will go towards the $4,200 course fees.
I'm going to be running charity yoga sessions monthly once I'm back with money going towards foundations that assist with mental health awareness.
I know really it's financially not the best time to be doing this, but I know in my heart it's what I need! It is the time i am meant to be doing it, and I'm going to take that risk!

Finding a suitable venue for holding these events may be an issue.. I want to find somewhere with a sick vibe.. I don't want any old hall or anywhere that is going to be expensive, as I want to be able to donate as much of the funds as I can. If a place does;t come up, the beach is always an option =)
