"I've been making films since I was 7 - Directing my brothers in our films starring our Lego characters - using Mum's video camera. This was the start for my passion for filmmaking. My whole life I have used films to escape to another world - fantasy, sci-fi, drama and comedies. Films have a power to reach beyond the screen and affect the way I view my world. Coming from a poorer, single-parent family I didn't travel so  the best way I could view the world was through film and television programs. Life has taught me that you have to give the things you love your all and make the most of what ever resources you have." 

"I've always been drawn to eclectic filmmakers and movies that blur the line between reality and fantasy but with universal themes of compassion, love, perseverance and hope. These are the kinds of films I want to make."

" As cliche as it sounds, Curious Cortege has become a labour of love for me. I am determined to see every stage of this production delivered to the highest standard.  Writing it was the easy part, as the characters were drawn from people I have met time and time again in my life. The easy part is now over because the world I have created in my mind I must bring into reality. There is so much I wish to detail in the overall aesthetics - costume, sets, makeup/hair - but money doesn't grow on trees! [laughs]"

"This film is being made to be distributed throughout film festivals - both national and international. The crew for this film has been assembled from students at the top of their class around Australia. Each member of our crew has a vested interest in seeing the best possible outcome for their efforts as this will for many of us be the foot in the door we've dreamed of. It is a pleasure to work with such a skilled and resourceful group of people."

BUDGET BREAKDOWN

Costuming: $200 - Materials for costume construction. All costumes will be unique and original designs. Made from scratch by the costume department.

Set & Set Dressing: $300 - Supplies to build and decorate the set of Deer and Owl's home.

Hair/Makeup/FX: $200 - Replenishment of student makeup supplies. Students are donating their time to the project and we need quality cosmetics for them to do their job. 

Catering:  $300 - Cast and Crew. Many hardworking and hungry mouths to feed.

Any additional money raised will be put directly into increasing the quality of the production (specifically set/set dressings, make-up) and promoting through Festivals.
