Adam ProkesHi, I found this page accidentally, as I was looking for this producer "Bachmann in brun". I want to sell my piano and I tried to find similar one to see what is the price of that. from the pictures on this site it looks I have exactly same piano...9y
Craig HillYes, it is possible that 1841 is a serial number, equally possible that it is a date. The steel frame is of a very early type, and this innovation was introduced in about 1838. There are two Wilhelm Bachmanns, both of Brno: 1788- 1856 and 1799 - 1860. So the piano is from the 1838 - 1860 at the very latest.12y
Andrew Nolanit says opus 1841 -thats a serial number, not the year of manufacture, prob 1860-7012y
Andrew NolanHi, I've owned 3 original Viennese style pianos and could help with some advice, in addition I have some original kapsels from other now defunct instruments which would be better replacements than those available commercially if required. Often the kapsels in the centre range of the keyboard are worn out and cant be adjusted. I notice that the turned parts of the legs are ebonised, which points to the instrument being originally ebony in colour -or is it just the photo? Are the original oblong -headed tuning pins still there or has the instrument had a re-string? Cheers12y
