The aim of this crowd funding project is to send The Australian Body Artist of the Year to The World Body Painting Festival in Austria in July 2017. Pledges start at $2.00 with rewards given. The Artist will be chosen from competition entries at The Australian Body Art Awards on the 1st of April 2017.
The Australian Body Art Awards has become Australia's Face & Body Painting event of the year!!! It is the premier annual event of the Australian Face & Body Art community. The ABAA started in 2010 and is a national face & body painting competition that is affiliated with The World Body Painting Association. On the 1st of April 2017 a Body Painter of the Year award will be presented at the Show/Awards night in Melbourne.
The ABAA is not funded by any grants nor does it have an financial sponsorship. To honour the finest Body Painter in Australia we would like to send the winner to the World Body Painting Festival in Austria to compete in July 2017.

How The Funds Will Be Used
The Australian Body Painter of the year will have flights paid from any capital city in Australia to Klagenfurt Austria in order to compete at The World Body Painting Festival in early July 2017. . Any additional funds will be used to also assist or cover accommodation costs.
The Challenges
I see challenges as opportunities for growth. Each time the The Australian Body Art Awards has been presented with challenges it has diversified. I am aware however that the painters that compete at the ABAA put in enormous effort and expense to travel to Melbourne and a great deal of time to create their competition show pieces. I feel that they deserve much better prizes than we have managed so far. The aim is to provide one person with the opportunity to represent Australia at the World Body Painting Festival based on their skill rather than affordability.
