In the mystical Blue Mountains, a paramedic faces his most ethically confronting case - with only seven seconds to decide, will he follow rules to prolong a patient's horrific suffering or risk his career by ending the patient's pain?
We believe in the power of film to tell stories that tap into our deepest human experiences, bring communities together and push artists to achieve their highest creative standards. We invite you to pledge now to 'The Last Babushka Doll' to help propel a highly promising film into production and onto movie screens around the world.
Exciting news - we've reached our target and thanks to the Creative Partnerships Australia MATCH program, EVERY DOLLAR GIVEN TO THIS CAMPAIGN UP TO $5,000 HAS BEEN MATCHED! Pledges are still open - every bonus donation we receive above our target will boost our production budget, to ensure that film can be made to the highest possible artistic standards.
'The Last Babushka Doll' is an ambitious short film project from the passionate team of award-winning published writer Georgina Luck and renowned filmmaker and script assessor Angelo Salamanca, who says: 'The Last Babushka Doll is the type of short film I've always desired to direct - a truly original, beautiful human story with universal themes and appeal'. The film began as a short story published by Margaret River Press, who we're delighted to have on board as a sponsor. Read more about the film
here.
For us, this project is all about bringing people together - to pursue a strong artistic vision and share a compelling story with the world. We'd love everyone who supports the project to be actively involved. There are lots of fun 'rewards' - watch the bloopers, see your name in lights in the credits, meet the cast and crew, give feedback on the first cut and - irresistible - tread the red carpet at the Film Gala Screening.
We're proud to be supported by Margaret River Press, the Blue Mountains Economic Enterprise, SAE QANTM, the Fellowship of Australian Writers-Victoria, the Varuna Writers Centre and Creative Industries Consulting.
'The Last Babushka Doll' is dedicated to Emma Cameron, Gwen D'Souza and Carolynne Hamilton for encouraging and supporting us every step of the way.
Thank you for your support.
