My inspiration for this film began after I had a strange dream about a mysterious man kissing a woman in the dark through an iron gate. When the woman tries to touch his hand, he pushes her away. After having the same strange dream three nights in a row, I started to become afraid to sleep, I began writing about the two characters to try and find meaning in the dream.
I start to think about the issues that we have in this community specially with migrant, young African men. The issues of feeling  alone and a sense of not belonging. This often causes young immigrants to struggle with relationships, education, work and often they to turn to drugs. I believe that the result of all this is a lack of love and understanding. I decided to put all this pieces together to create my main character (Abeselom) who is a drug dealer. His world is rocked when he meets Netsanet and for the first time he feels real love again.The story is about love, culture, money and finding comfort within each other. 

To get this film made and completed we have worked out that we need a minimum of $32, 400.00
I am willing to invest $15,400.00 of my own money if needed. Unfortunately this is not enough to pay all the artists, cast and crew that will be working hard for 6 weeks to make this film.
Which is why we need your help. 
Your contribution towards this film will go towards paying all the crew, actors, rental equipment and the flights to Ethiopia.
All of the actors and crew will be working passionately on a minimum wage and we would love to reach $50,000.00 so that they could be paid more appropriately, but as we are all passionate artists collaborating together to make this film, we are happy to invest our time and we only ask you to support us anyway you can.
Pre Production - All the pre production work is being done for free by myself and the cast & crew. This includes casting, rehersals, location scouting, meetings, storyboarding, shot lists and of course the script.

The biggest challenge on the project will be working with such a tight budget.
The budget only covers the essentials of the films and we already predict that we will have to use a lot of favours, some of these favours include lending us nice locations, prop, cars etc. 
Through our skills in university we are use to working on a tight budget and often no budget at all. 
Thankfully people understand that Australia doesn't have a very big film industry and often many people are willing to help by letting passionate filmmakers use locations for free. Many people are willing to help in anyway they can to support the project and we will be relying heavily upon this help, by using our charms and power of influence we are positive we can over come theses obstacles. If we are able to recieve more funding than what we are asking for this will also help to solve a lot of those problems so that we can focus more on the creative side of the project.
