Hi Friends,

We are making a Bollywood style music video based on a character called data maharaja. The king of kings. It's purely fictional. He works in a 9 to 5 job but thinks like a royalty. As if he is above all his bosses and managers at work. Who does not believe in performance reviews and thinks that promotion is his birthright. This song is about this egomaniac character’s performance review at work and his larger than life imaginary majestical world. 

We have already recorded and mixed the song at green room studio, Hobart. Michael has done a brilliant job in taking this song to a different level with his sound engineering abilities. 

Also special thanks to my dear friend Bec for her exceptional playback singing. She is a classically trained singer with a great voice and above all a great heart.

About me and my journey as an artist:

Singing and entertaining has been my interest from childhood. I started singing when I was nine. By the age of 15, I developed keen interest in Indian classical music. I started learning Indian classical/traditional music from a renowned local Indian classical singer (Late Shri Narayan alias Nana Shirgaonkar - Goa, India).  I participated in several singing competitions and performed in several live concerts. I also developed interest in writing poems and songs.  

But then after moving to Australia 10 years ago, my musical journey came to a halt with focus being on study and career. However I continued writing poems and songs on variety of subjects. 

I now strongly feel like developing my musical interest and abilities. This is why I am making this rap song music video. Perhaps I don't have  audience for Indian traditional music in Hobart, hence I think venturing into rap music which is more accessible to Tasmanians will give me the unique opportunity to develop my profile and build local audience. I have written more songs with some classical touch and hope that this music video will give me the launching pad to further my interest.

This music video production will help me learn following skills as an artist:

- Song writing/making music and singing with end result and listener in mind.

- exposure to how music is recorded and mixed.

- video making and arrangement.

- Music marketing and promotional skills.

- project management skills. 

- testing new market and artistic concept 

- build relationships and network in the art circle

I believe this project will give me the valuable learning experience to improve my music and performance in the future and produce something special. 

What next?

The next step for us is to get a video done. We will be shooting a dramatic Bollywood style music video. I promise you it will be fun and interesting to watch. Hobart's Bollywood dance group (Rhythmz Bollywood dance studio) will be the lead choreographer. I am excited to learn some Bollywood dancing:).

How the video will be promoted/distributed?

We are planning on having a music video launch night in Hobart to promote the video. Stay tuned, we will keep you posted on the details. We will also invite the local media for the event. 

The video will also be uploaded on Youtube and promoted via various platforms like twitter and Facebook. A friend who is a local artist with over 3000 twitter followers has kindly offered to promote the video.

It will be uniquely entertaining and targeted at all viewers who like funky, hip-hop style music with a bit of melodrama.
