We've been playing and touring around Australia for the last 42 years and just recently we've been invited to perform in our very own showcase spot at the Americana Festival in Nashville TN, USA in September 2013.
We think it's really important to take genuine Australian music to the USA to show them that we have our own culture and traditions. We'd like them to know that Australian roots-based music is not simply a 'clone' of existing American influences.
Let's face it, we're so inundated here with all things 'American' that it's about time we sent something the other way. We personally can't wait to see their faces when Dobe gets going on the Lagerphone backed by the powerful sound of the Bushwackers at full stretch.
We are very thrilled to have been invited but we need your help to get there and take our 'A Team' of great musicians Dobe, Roger, Mark, Clare, Michael and Brad to the USA. It's expensive of course and although we've already funded a lot of this ourselves we would still really appreciate some further help from you all to get us 'over the line'.
The airfares alone have cost us nearly $10,000 and we have to rent a house and a truck to get us around over there. Also it'd be nice to eat something occasionally.
We've come up with some different, interesting and collectible items in the rewards packages for you and we hope they all get taken up. This 'crowd-funding' campaign only works if we make our target amount so please dig deep and help us on our way.
We've decided to invite you all 'along for the ride' with us on our virtual tour. You'll get to see some snippets of our shows and Dobe will be chatting live to some of the stars. We'll keep a daily diary and upload it to you so you can be right there with us every step of the way. Sounds like fun to us!
