***UPDATE***
Hi all,
We have met our target! Massive thanks to all our supporters so far - we are so excited that this project can go ahead and we hope that you are too!
Now that we have met our target, any additional funds will go towards covering the other costs associated with the concert (venue hire, concert programs, promotion etc). We were originally planning on covering these costs ourselves but as we will be going overseas for a while in the near future, any additional support would help us immensely!
It's not too late to pledge if you haven't already and we would be very grateful for any support that could mean we could come close to breaking even on this project.

Hi all!
We are putting on a concert on Sunday August 11th and we need your help to have it streamed live online!
What is it?
Our concert will be titled "The Modern Day Saxophone" and will feature a number of modern works that include the saxophone. There will be works for solo saxophone, saxophone duo, saxophone quartet and a number of combinations of saxophone with other instruments. The concert will feature two World Premiere performances and three Australian Premiere performances, alongside other pieces, and the concert will also feature a number of awesome guest artists. We have made a big effort to put together a very diverse program within the context of new music for the saxophone and we hope that there will be something for everyone to enjoy!
Concert Details
Below are the concert details and our intended program for the concert. We like all of this music very much and we hope you will enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoy playing it!

Why do we need your help?
With this great selection of new music for saxophone, we want this concert to be freely available to anyone in the world through live video streaming. We want this to be professionally done so that the video and audio quality can be of a high standard, and so that the concert will be uninterrupted by ads. We need your help because, as we have discovered, professional live streaming of an event is a rather pricey endeavour! We are both willing to contribute our own money to this concert and have no intention of taking any kind of fee for the performance, but we aren't in a position to foot the entire bill ourselves. While to cover costs we could charge a high entry fee and a streaming subscription fee, we believe music should be readily accessible to everyone regardless of their financial position.
Where is the money going?
We are able to cover most of the costs of the concert so we are simply hoping to raise enough money to be able to go ahead with the streaming. If the campaign is successful, we will be able to put on a free concert for anyone in the world to see! The streaming will cost approximately $1500 which is the minimum amount we will need to go ahead with the concert as planned but there are of course a number of other costs involved that we are currently planning on covering ourselves. The total minimum costs involved with putting on this concert are approximately as follows:
$1500 for live streaming
$660 for venue & piano hire
$100 for refreshments at the concert
$50 for programs
$50 for promotion
$300 for artist fees
Total: $2,660
This is our last concert in Melbourne before we head overseas for an undetermined amount of time, and we want it to be a good one! If we exceed our target we could potentially then invest more money into the concert by providing better programs and food and drinks for guests as well as partially covering our costs – here’s hoping! If our campaign is unsuccessful however, the concert will go ahead but it won't be streamed so you'll have to be in Melbourne to see it!
How does it work?
Pozible operates on an “all-or-nothing” model, meaning that we will either reach our target and receive everything that was pledged, or we won’t reach our target and will receive nothing. If you would like to pledge to our cause, simply click the “pledge now” button. If you don’t already have a Pozible account, you will be prompted to create one (don’t worry – it’s free and they don’t ask for much information). Once you have created an account, simply decide how much you want to pledge, choose a reward if you want one, and fill in your credit card/paypal details. The amounts indicated for each reward are the minimum you need to pledge to receive the reward. For example, if you pledge $50, you can choose any of the rewards listed for $50 or under.
If the campaign is successful, your pledge will be debited from your nominated account as soon as we reach our target amount of $1500. If your card is declined, Pozible will give you until 7 days after the end date of our campaign to rectify the issue. However, if we do not reach our target of $1500, your account will not be charged.
Why crowd funding?
We firmly believe that music should be easily and cheaply accessible, that you should try to give what you can when you can, and that you should be able to hear quality music even if you can’t afford it. Through crowd funding, you can decide how much you’re able to contribute, and we have a bunch of great rewards to show our appreciation! This also means that those who can afford to support us financially are helping those who are only able to support us by listening.
If you are unable to support us financially but you are interested in being involved in some way, we could definitely use some help on the day in setting up the venue and serving (hopefully copious amounts of) free food and drinks! If you are interested, don’t hesitate to get in touch – we would love to have you on board!
We are really looking forward to this concert and we would be most appreciative of any support you may be able to offer to make it happen!
Thanks for reading!
