About
the project
Our film is a short film that has been selected, along with nine others, to be part of a feature film anthology called 'Locks of Love'.
'A Familiar Feeling' is a fast-paced
black comedy that tells the story of an unlucky-in-love servant, Terry, and his
deadly vampire mistress, Lady Claire. Terry is a good natured, domestic god with a love of 1980s rock. Lady Claire is a ruthless predator who
relies on Terry's protection during the day while she sleeps. Terry has fallen
in love with Lady Claire but is trying to hide his feelings in case he makes
his mistress angry and she decides to eat him! When Lady Claire is
kidnapped, Terry sets out to rescue her. However, things don't go according to
plan and Terry’s life takes an unexpected turn.
Why
we need your help
Vampire films are great to watch but expensive to make. We need night shoots,
fake blood, special effect fangs, CGI effects and a professional make-up
artist. 'A Familiar Feeling' will also
show Terry dating in the 1970s and rocking big 1980s hair and fashion. To do
this well, we need to raise money for Terry's costumes and stadium rocker hair!
To bring our story to life, we also need
great actors. We've got access to a professional casting agent and have the
opportunity to bring in high profile actors to play Terry and Lady Claire.
Although we've received $5000 funding from the ACT government (through
ScreenACT), using high profile actors will only be possible if we raise well over $2000 through this Pozible
campaign. We've set our target at $2000 (because if you don't reach your target you receive nothing) but, with your help, we're hoping to exceed it.
About our team
The team at Mordrickson Creations are building a reputation for creating funny and engaging stories with a quirky twist. Our most recent short film, 'Gone Postal', was a finalist at multiple Australian film festivals and an award winner at Lights! Canberra! Action! 2012.
To create 'A Familiar Feeling', we've put together a talented team including an experienced and professional editor, production designer and graphic artist.
Now all we need is YOU to help us raise the money we need to bring Terry's story to life!
