Ultimately $7k - 10K is the goal for this film highly polished - however 5 makes it happen really nicely. Would do on $0 if that were the case as its all about making it no matter what just to get the story out. You pledging shines and fluffs it up in a big way. So thankyou thankyou thankyou every little bit of sparkle counts. I'm insanely grateful for your support in this creatively heart driven message. - Renee

Synopsis

Inspired by a collaboration of true stories this film leaves no stone un turned when telling the story of single mother Ariel, and the challenges she faces in life as a single mother. After visiting Ariel’s house, Dimity a mother from her son Tyler's school, bumps the phone and calls Ariel on the way home accidentally, Ariel over hears exactly what this mother thinks of not only herself, but all single mothers.Receiving just $6.38 per week child support per week, and unable to afford even food for herself, Ariel refuses to be depicted as a down trodden victim. Regardless of the obvious struggle in life and judgments from society, Ariel will not give up. With more heart than Phar lap Ariel becomes the change she wants to see in the World.

'Be the Change' is written and produced by Renee Eaves,a single mother herself, Renee knows all too well the challenges women can face raising children alone.Renee is a strong advocate for human rights and social justice. In 2011 Renee studied the relevant laws regarding deprivation of liberty, and brought a civil case against a Qld police officer, making her the first woman to self represent and win a case of it’s kind in Australia. ( The story currently being made into a feature film). www.reneeeaves.com - Renee has been passionate about anything entertainment, from a very early age, receiving the ‘most likely to achieve in the arts’ award, when finishing year 12. After facing some extreme life challenges, Renee felt that pairing her life experience as a single mum, with her flare for film and creativity was a way to touch the heart of millions in a few short minutes. The intention was to creatively express and bring awareness to the degree of hardships single mothers face on a daily basis, she wants to change the image of a single mother from a needy or lazy individual, by showing just how stretched and selfless they need to be, just to keep the 'balls in the air at all times'. Every part of this story has come from various single parent's reality.' I came to a point where I thought to myself if someone like me that is known for her strength and never say die attitude has moments curled up in fetal position on the bottom of the shower - I bet there is more out there. The making of this story Renee says, is “ A version of the warm hug I wants to give, that says to each single mum, you are not alone, that we see you, we hear you, we feel you,we get it.

Did you know? When a survey was taken to research for this film that one in 3 single mothers at some point, (although not wanting to be apart from their kids) had considered that people in jail are better off than them, with the reasons given as *a guaranteed roof over their head* 3 meals a day * Time to go for a walk * Adult company – someone to talk to. And 1 in 2 had considered or thought about prostitution and if they could do that to * get themselves out of constant poverty * and to afford the time to be there for their children’s needs.

Directed by Dee Dee Shi

Dee Dee – Shi was recently invited by the Internationally acclaimed Huayi brothers over to Beijing to direct the film ‘Touch of Heart’ featuring award winning actress ‘Ni Ni’ ( Flowers of War with Christian Bale) and Feng Shao Feng.
Dee Dee moved to Australia speaking almost no English in 1989, she worked full time and studied a Bachelor of Arts in Acting and Drama, it is then that she began writing and directing film both in English and Chinese, going on to then get her Master of education in leadership.
In 2011 the American Picture Association ran a pitch competition in which Dee Dee was the Qld Winner for feature film “Tianman Songbird”
Ms Shi has a screen writers credit for the film “My little King” and her film “Angels Wish” was shown at the Louisville International film festival in the USA
Also a Single Mother Dee Dee is very excited about directing this this heartfelt story, knowing it will reach many that feel isolated in this World, much they way she did when she moved to Australia speaking very little English all to provide a better life for her son. She says even though it was a long time ago, she has never forgotten the struggle and how isolated she felt, and committed to the project the moment Renee asked her to be a part of it.

Cameron Caulfield has been cast as the son Tyler.

At the age of just 10, Cameron is already working regularly as a professional actor. Cameron has worked on Feature Films, TVC, and Short Films, he is a presenter on Chanel 10's kids show 'Toasted', a budding gymnast and academically gifted. Cameron is one of 5 children and has been raised by an amazing single mother.

" I couldn't imagine anyone more fitting for this role than Cameron" this amazing boy has so much depth and strength of character, he has a 'knowing' that is completely apparent when you meet him, I know he will reach out and grab your heart with his authenticity" I'm so excited to be working with him. - Renee Eaves

Tamika Chesser - has been cast as Shaz - the work mate of single mum Ariel -

I believe good stories need light and shade - you have never experienced a lighter person than Tamika, she brings nothing but sparkle to every thing she does. Its hard to believe that this big a bombshell could take your attention away from her stunning looks and leave you that mesmerized by her performance. She is completely captivating. I can't think of anyone more fitting for the role of "Shaz". I'm looking really forward to her bringing many laughs - Renee Eaves
