The George Revival Cinema, St Kilda

A$5,305
of $5,000 targetyrs ago
Successful on 23rd Aug 2013 at 7:27AM.
I have been given a great opportunity to revive cinema in St Kilda.
I've taken out a short term lease over the old George Cinema on Fitzroy Street, I'm calling it The George Revival and I need your help.
My main investment is leasing a DCI compliant projector (in layman's terms, a really good projector that plays new release films) and having a fully integrated ticketing system (made by the guys who do the ticketing for MIFF).
These are the things I'm looking for help with - I'm taking out a loan to cover the rest.
So, the current season is from August 15th this year to early February 2014. After that, the new owners take over, my lease is up and the future is uncertain. Hopefully, with the support of the local community, they won't dare rip the cinema out.
I've been running film events in Melbourne for a number of years, (Red Hot Shorts and Blow Up Cinema) so I'm hoping I can hit the ground running with the George Revival and build a strong and loyal audience.
We plan to screen a really good mix of films over the course of our Thursday to Sunday opening times. Documentaries each Thursday, new releases Friday to Sunday, classic films on 35mm every Sunday, family film matinees and a 'spotlight' each week on directors, actors and themes.
We will work with community groups in the area, such as schools and local charities, to provide them with a free cinema to do fund raising events and through our Friends of George Cinema Club, we will play the films locals want to see.
The aim is for great quality film programming that is accessible by all.
Whether you're an individual or a business you can help revive cinema in St Kilda, with The George Revival Cinema.
Please note that all the things that The George Revival can offer are during it's limited season (lease) from August 15th 2013 to February 1st 2014)
