On top of our original goal, we can reach so many more lives, for example if we raise:

$10,000 - Not only can we employ 200 more women...
We will run a specific health program for women and children at our fair trade partner in Bangladesh (eg, women's health checks).

$17,000 - Not only can we employ 200 more women, run a healthcare program...
We will establish a Library and fund school supplies at the primary school run by our producer group in Nepal.

$30,000 - Not only can we employ 200 more women, run a healthcare program, establish a Library...
We wil fund the position of a teacher at our Producer groups Primary school in Bangladesh.

Who:
The Little Sparrow is a fair, ethical and fun brand for little ones (and fun adults). Our products, designed by us are made by our amazing fair trade partner organisations in Bangladesh, Nepal and India. These groups skillfully make our products by hand while earning a fair, livable wage. This provides them with access to:
·Long term, sustainable employment.
·Healthcare & Micro credit.
·Adult education and skills training.
·Childcare and Primary education
·Hope!

Why:
Our aim is to reach $5000 in pledges to help employ 200 more women by Christmas. We arrived at this figure because it’s the boost we need to supplement The Little Sparrow’s finance to reach this target.

Background:
The Little Sparrow began to take flight in 2009 when Megan and Allison jumped on a plane to visit fair trade producer groups in Bangladesh. These groups were tackling poverty and exploitation by empowering marginalised men and women with tangible social and economic opportunities. These opportunities, such as fair wages, health care, microcredit, literacy programs, anti-trafficking education and relevant skills training continue to change lives.

By choosing to work within these existing frameworks, Allison and Megan, through The Little Sparrow, are able to provide a sustainable ongoing business relationship and access for these skilled artisans to a wider market. Working along side groups that are using their unique skills and knowledge to provide a practical solution to the needs in their own communities. And providing you with beautiful, unique and handmade products that are fair, ethical and fun!
