Revive follows the story of a young businessman who walks to work each morning, dulled by the routine of his 9-to-5 job. That is, until he notices a pair of eyes watching him. After passing a sick boy in a window each day, he takes it upon himself to make the child’s day a little brighter. But what happens when the boy is no longer there?

Revive is the brain child of Chae Ryan and Ruben Pracas, who have collaborated with myself and a talented group of local filmmakers to realise their vision for this short film. Months of passion, organisation and creativity have been lovingly poured into this powerful film which is currently 2/3 of the way through production and heading into post-production. Thanks to the generosity of the cast and crew involved, who have dedicated their time, talent and equipment, Revive has been realised and will fight for its place as a winner at Tropfest AU which screens on December 8th 2013.

This film is a very special project for the crew in particular, as we have all come together with the sole purpose of conceiving and creating a Tropfest-worthy short film. Something director Ruben has said to each of us has stuck with me - although he is the director, it is very important to him that each individual contributor to the film can watch it and see themselves in it. The DOP needs to see his shots, I need to see my management, the actors need to see their character. With this mentality and encouragement, a little piece of each crew member, cast and contributor will be embedded in Revive.

It is on this basis that Revive can be seen as a powerful collaboration of a group of high calibre filmmakers. This is why I ask for your support; I want film lovers to join this project and feel that they can be a part of it. I want you to see your contribution in each shot and feel the love with each scene.

Revive is being created with the purpose of being entered into Tropfest AU this year and must be realised to a high standard in order to compete with other entries and stand out from the crowd. To do this we must be able to execute a logistically complex and compelling montage that involves a variety of costumes, scenarios and camera equipment. This scene marks the climax of the film and will not happen without the generosity of financial and creative contributors. This is the one, big obstacle Revive and the production team is facing. But with your contribution, my commitment to Revive's success, and the passion and drive of the director and crew, we can make it happen!
