Hi I’m Melody Moon, an independent self-funded singer-songwriter. I've been playing around Melbourne, touring and performing at festivals, pubs, cafes and live on radio for the last couple of years. I’m now lucky enough to be playing in a trio with two amazing musicians- Caoimhe Collins on cello and Peter Woodlands on double bass. They both sing too, so we have 3 stringed instruments & 3 voices which is a rare treat. We love playing together and are really happy with how the sound's evolving. Pete has a recording studio and has offered for us to record a whole album there. It’s an amazing opportunity!
I recorded my first 2 EPs myself in temporary home studios, and some of the tracks made it onto radio and into the top 10 on the Amrap AirIt Charts. I put a lot of energy and love into my music, with self-funded tours and trying to do things myself, but I feel it’s time now to do it well and get some help to take it to the next level! The album will be a big step up and will help us get into more festivals and allow us to keep playing, creating and performing- doing what we love :-)
Last year I got to make a video clip with director Fabian Lapham- we shot it down the great ocean road and in Melbourne over 3 days, with 10 actors. Here it is!
We’ll be recording some new songs I’ve written in the last year aswell as older songs and re-recordings of a few songs off my EPs, including Carried Away. The sound’s grown and now is the time to capture it. We'll also be working with the incredible Melbourne percussionist Leon Tussie on the record which is exciting. We may even be throwing in a couple of our own versions of old folk songs- have a feeling you might enjoy;-)
So please please help us to make the album in whatever way you can. We’ve made the rewards for pledges pretty exciting and alluring so hopefully something jumps out at you - from mine, Caoimhe’s & Pete’s interesting range of skills and talents...

The Challenges
I can’t see many obstacles in the road ahead… only $, but once we’ve got this recording out there I feel it’ll lead to more opportunities, support and hopefully the ability to sustain ourselves doing what we’re doing, and keep the songs coming!
