A bisected study of Australian masculinity, urban haute couture and the cult of self-improvement in the unique sea-salt-circus of Bondi beach.
DAN is the BONDI-BRO-HEMIAN, GLOBAL AVANT-GARDE LAPTOP COMPOSER, QUASI-SPIRITUAL SURF POET, FIGURATIVE VIBRATION PAINTER and SHAMANIC ECO-COLOURIST, riding the PSYCHEDELIC SEAHORSE, carving DEEP ETHICALLY HARVESTED GROOVES into his BASE CHAKRA, and charming the ladies with his GOLDEN ANAPESTIC SUN-KISSED WISDOM.....
OLLIE is a running, jumping, swimming, power lifting, rope climbing, low GI, free weight, high-protein, gymnastic, cross-fit, yoga and nutrition junkie who can't find love or intimacy, no matter how balanced and strong his core, or how large his biceps swell.
One day, in a last ditch attempt to attract the eyes of the many Bondi-babes that roam the sand, Ollie pushes things one step too far... with disastrous consequences.
Can his mate Dan save him?
...or is it just too late?
Who is in Team BRONZER?
UK Writer / Director / DOP Trevor Thomas has pulled together the sublime talents of
some of Bondi's finest creatives.
Actors Cain Thompson and Ben Mortley perform the lead roles of 'Ollie' and 'Dan'.
Not to mention;

Trevor Thomas, originally a successful exhibiting artist, cartoonist, photographer and graphic designer was eventually drawn into the world of film and moving image.
He has since worked on a handful of campaigns for JD SPORTS, NIKE, NOKIA, NINTENDO and PHILLIPS, as well as the UK channel 4 music show 'ABBEY ROAD DEBUTS' and assisted with the very popular 'WATCHLISTENTELL' online music channel. He has also filmed some of the worlds top musicians and performers both as a live stage cameraman and music video D.O.P.
Trev has also incorporated his love of travel with his love of image making; directing and shooting documentaries in Morocco, Mali, and Botswana.
After working on several award winning short films, he is now focusing on writing and directing and has travelled to Australia from the UK to achieve this dream.

Cain Thompson is also known as the 'Bondi Guy' and 'That Guy' from the 2011 Vitamin Water advertising campaign. Graduated from NIDA in 2006 and during this time worked on a string of successful theatre productions including Chekovs Three sisters directed by George Ogilvie and The Boys directed by Tamara Cook. Cain also travelled to Brazil to train and perform Capoeira at "Ginga Sem Limite". After shooting BRONZER last year he went straight to Melbourne to perform in 'Look Right Through Me', directed by Kate Denbourough at the Malthouse Theatre. He is currently preparing to play the lead in the feature film 'Pretense' shooting in Tasmania later this year directed by James Burton as well as producing and performing the lead in 'McNeil project' in Melbourne, directed by Malcolm Robertson.
Ben Mortley has studied the art of life in far fetched lands such as Africa, Saudi Arabia, Europe, Indonesia, and Mexico. He studied acting at NIDA and the 'Ecole' Phillipe Gaulier' in Paris. He's been performing in theatre, film and TV in Australia for the last 22 years including 'Lantana' and 'McLeod's Daughters', and for theatre companies such as STC, Bell Shakespeare, and Company B Belvoir. He Most recently appeared as 'Gerry Clay' in the mini-series 'Cloudstreet', and 'Buzzcock' in the soon to be released feature film 'Drift'. He is currently studying for his post-graduate diploma in Film and TV, and recently completed a 2 month 'Director's Attachment' during the post-production of 'Drift'.
Marie Kyle graduated from the Academy of Film and TV Make-Up in Auckland in 2004. She immediately worked as a make-up and hair stylist for Maori TV, Sky and Prime TV. She spent two years working in the UK on a variety of ITV commercials, as well as campaigns for UKTV, Viasat, Virgin media, and London Fashion Week. She has also worked on numerous critically acclaimed short films including 'The Prime Minister's Haircut'. She has worked on photo shoots for magazines such as 'Wound' and 'Pavement', and participated in and been commended in several international body art awards. Moving to Sydney in 2010, Marie has worked on a variety of music videos including "Belles will Ring" as well as fashion campaigns for 'Running Bare' and 'Wahine'.
How was BRONZER born ?
Trevor developed the idea and wrote the first draft of the script in 2009 whilst on a 6 month visit to Bondi beach, getting under the golden skin of Bondi's unique health and fitness culture, as well as its obsession with "high fashion" and vanity.
One of the key reasons for creating the project was also to utilize the amazing natural light and incredible locations Bondi has to offer. Observing Bondi as an outsider has allowed Trevor to weave a unique, and insightful tale about one of the worlds most iconic beaches.
How do we intend to use the funds?
Team BRONZER are determined to have experienced professionals involved in the post production of our short film. These include an editor, sound designer, colourist/grader, and graphic artist.
As you’ve seen from our teaser, and related music
video and character studies on our website (www.bronzershortfilm.com), we believe we have a high quality short film in the making.
If we can offer the professionals we have in mind, at least a small portion of their regular fee, we know know we can maintain our high standards throughout post production. Thereby reaching as wide an audience as possible, and sharing our comedy with the world.
A portion of the funds will also go towards entering our film into targeted film festivals both nationally and internationally, as well as the manufacture of promotional materials, and the organisation of our 'premiere' screening.
A small portion of the funds will go into providing some of the rewards we are offering for the generous donations we receive.
