PROJECT OUTLINE 

welcome, welcome.

Hi all, both me and Arjun are young filmmakers trying to crack the industry by any means possible. We have decided that making this film will give us a push in the right direction and showcase our skills. We've been working on the project for around three months now and we are really excited to get production underway... but of course that costs money. We would really appreciate any donation to this project. It would mean so much to both of us if we can get to the goal of 3.5k. It's a leap, but it would allow us to make this project fully formed and ready to show at festivals and to gain recognision within the industry. 

What's the movie about?

'A Calf on a Butcher's Block' follows an ex-butcher turned retail assistant fighting the urge to return to the gruelling, yet exciting life of butchery following the death of a close friend.  The films looks at drug addiction as a means of maintaining a small business and income for the employees within.

Budget summary

16mm: 

As we are shooting in 16mm film, the cost of shooting goes up quite substantially. It includes the cost for film stock, processing, and scanning. I believe 16mm, whilst it does take up a large portion of the budget, will give the film a 'feel' and professionalism which will in-turn help it's sucess in film festivals and marketing. 

Actors + amenities:

We also want to pay the actors and crew working on the film. This will make the crew more compact, driven, and invested in the project rather than doing it as a favour. This also includes catering and travel expenses. 

Film festival fees: 

We will submit the film into different film festivals around Australia and internationally. Whether it's online or not the festivals have a submission fee. With your donation, we can send the film to these festivals and get our film showcased to a broader audience. 

Props + gear: 

This accounts for any extra gear that we need to rent or hire for the shoot.
