PROBLEM
- There are thousands of charities - how do you know where to start?
- How do you know where your money's going?
- How do you get enough time to find out what's out there, let alone whether they're legit?
- How do you make a difference when you're not a millionaire?
10X10 SOLUTION
- 10x10 is a scalable platform that provide a unique and social forum for young professionals and creatives to give to emerging charities whose causes resonate with them. It also helps to engender a culture of giving and philanthropy within our communities.
- Each event showcases three emerging local charities, carefully chosen as organisations creating solutions to complex social issues in our communities.
- Supported by the 10x10 founders, each event is planned and hosted by a fresh committee of 10, typically guests at prior events. Each committee member hosts minimum of 10 guests at the event, bringing together over 100 people who each each contribute $100, raising $10,000 (at least!).
- Each charity has five minutes to pitch in the style of the popular UK television show, The Dragon’s Den, and are then questioned by a special guest Dragon about their cause and business model.
- Your $100 OR $150 entry ticket is turned into ‘Charity Dollars’. After hearing the pitches, you choose the organisations you most want to support.
- All costs of each event are covered by event sponsors
- Please note: your ticket purchase is converted to your donation. 100% of your money is passed directly onto the charities and is fully tax deductible. We charge charities a 7.5% project fee of total revenue raised to cover 10x10 admin and infrastructure costs.
THE CHARITIES
Ruf Us Charitable Trust is a charity run entirely by volunteers to assist the homeless and to prevent homelessness in Adelaide. Our vision is a world in which all people have the opportunity to live in housing, and more importantly a home, and for those who experience homelessness to be treated with respect, dignity and empathy in a non-judgemental manner by all. In 2015, Ruf Us Charitable Trust outfitted and furnished 220 houses making these homes for 229 adults and 189 children. The retail value of the goods distributed in 2015 was $4,500,000. By 29/07/2016, Ruf Us has outfitted and furnished 360 houses into homes for 370 adults and 319 children (with 17 pending). The retail value of goods distributed being $7,600,000 to date.
Backpacks 4 SA Kids is a not for profit, volunteer run organisation that provide backpacks for children who have been displaced from their homes and are accessing emergency services such as foster care, domestic violence shelters and youth homeless shelters. The backpacks we provide help to relieve some of the uncertainty children face when their worlds are changing, often in traumatic situations and without the opportunity to take any personal belongings along with them.
For disadvantaged women, Essentials 4 Women SA aim to provide the basic, but costly, items for feminine hygiene including sanitary products and underwear. Our passion for helping women promises to help empower and enhance the wellbeing and dignity for some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Essentials 4 Women SA runs donation drives throughout the year seeking donations of sanitary items, toiletries and underwear. We provide businesses and private residences with an E4WSA donation bin and they act as drop-off points across South Australia. At the completion of each donation drive we will create E4WSA Period Packs to be distributed to womenin need, either directly through us, or trusted service providers in South Australia. All other donations of underwear and other toiletries are distributed in conjunction with, but not inside, our Period Packs.

How The Funds Will Be Used
Your tickets will be available for collection at the Gallery on the night of the event. For a $100 ticket, you'll receive two $50 charity vouchers which you can allocate across the charities however you please. Receipts will be issued for the full amount of the ticket price following the event.
