THE PROJECT - AHE DEBUT US TOUR

Help AHE tour the US and perform at Carnegie Hall!

The Australian Haydn Ensemble is embarking on its debut orchestral tour to the United States in October 2023 at the invitation of the Australian Government to perform at the grand opening celebrations of the new Australian Embassy in Washington DC. 

In addition to this, and working with a US-based Classical Music agent, AHE also has also planned a series of concerts performances and education workshops on both the West and East US coasts. 

Current engagements include Carnegie Hall (New York), The American Australian Association (New York), The ‘Artpower Series (University of California, San Diego), Chapman University Musco Series (Orange County, California), Candlelight Series (Columbia, Maryland), St John's University (Annapolis, Maryland) and the Morris Museum (Morristown, New Jersey). These will be presented alongside several educational workshops at the University of California, Chapman University and the American Australian Association.

Australian Embassy Concert, Washington D.C. 

The Washington Embassy Project, as part of the opening of the new Australian Embassy building, will coincide with an exhibition of Papunya Nation artworks and be called Past and Present Together. AHE will present a program reflecting nature combining a selection of 18th century works by Haydn with works by contemporary Australian Composers including Ross Edwards, Elena Kats-Chernin and Peter Sculthorpe.

This is a hugely exciting project for us to be able to tour our wonderful musicians and present them to American audiences!

We have already raised a significant majority of the funds needed to make this tour happen. We just need a bit more to help cover the full amount of Artist's fees, international travel, accommodation and ground transport costs.

Total project costs $330,000

Including:

$140,000 - Artist fees (18 Musicians involved) 

$140,000 - International travel, accommodation, ground transfers, insurance, visa fees

AHE has already raised or been awarded the following funds towards the project:

$80,000 (Grant funds from the American Australian Association)

$95,000 (Philanthropic support from AHE donors in Australia)

$95,000 (Presenter concert fees in the US)

$35,000 Grant from the Australia Council (Creative Australia) International Engagement Fund) 

TOTAL REMAINING NEEDED THROUGH THIS POZIBLE CAMPAIGN: 

$25,000

As you can imagine, we have put a huge amount of work into getting to this point with this exciting international AHE project and have managed to overcome most of the significant challenges. We are poised and ready to go! We just need this final bit of funds to help us cover the costs.
