We are a group of filmmakers from Perth, Western Australia who were lucky enough to have our project greenlit by FTI in their 2016 Oompf! funding round.

What Our Film's About
Barcode is a coming-of-age comedy about a young boy's cutthroat rise to schoolyard power. When introvert Ben and his friends defend themselves against school bully Fiona, a flavoured milk carton is spilled and a savage little game is created: Barcode. Everyone becomes a player as Barcode madness sweeps through the school. Desperate to bring down Fiona and win the love of his crush Cassie, Ben exploits the craze to rise to power - but at what cost?

How The Funds Will Be Used
WITHIN THE TARGET:
When we did our first budget breakdown we realised, amusingly, that the most expensive part of this film was going to be taking care of everyone. It's so important to us that all involved in this project are treated well and feel looked after. With a cast and crew of over 50 people working on our short film, ensuring that all these talented humans are fed, hydrated and kept warm and dry is incredibly costly.
OVER THE TARGET:
Every dollar raised over our catering target goes straight back into the post-production costs associated with the film. Spreading the film far and wide into festivals nationally and internationally is costly - and we want as many people as possible to see the fruits (so to speak) of our labour. The other large cost we can cover with your help is the design and printing of our posters and promotional materials. We know we have the most talented cast in the universe and we'd like to share their faces with the world.

The Challenges
Our biggest challenge is managing a production of this size. This is the biggest, craziest, most complicated dream any of us have ever had to realise and we are relying on the support of our hardworking crew, excited cast and their beautiful families to make it happen.
With your help we can make it a wonderful experience for everyone who we are lucky enough to have involved.
