Before the Moon Falls
In a neon-lit wasteland minutes from total collapse, two friends share one last moment in a city that’s about to disappear.
This cinematic cyberpunk short is made for Instagram and designed for mobile viewing, but shot with high-end, professional production values.
After the success of CYBERGUTZ (watch below) on Instagram, Alleyne and James were inspired to revisit that world and create a new story within the same universe.
Before the Moon Falls follows a young woman drifting through a crumbling city on the edge of collapse. She’s not a rebel or a hero - just someone searching for meaning in the final hours of a place she once called home. Her character is quiet, guarded and magnetic. She is the stillness amongst the chaos.
Blending elements of fashion, music, and dystopian sci-fi, the film offers a dark, stylised experience that lives somewhere between a music video and a short film. It’s a true passion project. We’ve brought together some of WA’s most talented crew, all generously donating their time to bring something ambitious and original to life.
This isn’t about festivals or awards. It’s a standalone visual piece, crafted for social media and made to reach a wide audience online. If you’re into bold visuals, genre-bending storytelling, and DIY filmmaking that punches above its weight, we’d love your support!

Budget Overview
We'll be filming at The Rechabite, a venue that aligns seamlessly with our raw, industrial aesthetic. One of the biggest moments in Before the Moon Falls takes place inside a packed underground club. A dystopian rave filled with 50 extras, each fully costumed and immersed in the world. But building that atmosphere takes serious resources. From styling and makeup to sound, lighting, and logistics, this scene alone reflects a big chunk of the budget.
