Can plants communicate? What would they say if they could speak? Discover the hidden language of plants as you explore the Celestial Garden in the rainforest of the Adelaide Bicentennial Conservatory !

Join Sacred Resonance, In Search of the Divine and guest Australian guest artists for an exotic multimedia installation that explores the secret dimensions of the plant kingdom.

Inspired by the book The Secret Life of Plants, technology is used as medium  to transform plants into musical instruments – playing sounds otherwise inaudible to the human ear. Plants are sensitive, in-tune, living beings. The Celestial Gardens expereince allows one to step into a a sonic garden and experience the invisible sound spectrum of the botanical world.

How Does it Work?

Within the installation one will have the opportunity to explore a series of plants linked with sensitive electrodes measuring the electromagnetic changes on their leaf surfaces. Through this multi-channel, interactive experience and soundscape audience members literally become ‘plant players’ through their touch, proximity and creative interactions with the plants.

Data collected is converted into ‘plant music’ allowing the plant kingdom a special voice to communicate back to us through interactive biofeedback. Each plant reacts in a different way to stimuli and responds with its own unique intelligence. Like us, each plant has its own distinct voice!

Why Plant Music?

To re-establish a balanced relationship between humanity and the greater environment, we are “giving nature the voice to speak”. By communicating and connecting with the plants through a common language, music, we can become more aware of the interconnection of all life and our own inherent place within it. Celestial Gardens aims to ignite this vital dialogue and realisation. It is necessary now, more than ever, for us to realise our roles are caretakers, caregivers and custodian of nature and our mother Earth Gaia.

The late night sound bath is a unique experience in the Botanic Gardens where the audience is bathed in a beautiful, otherworldly soundscapes created by the plants themselves!

Journey into deep states of relaxation as Sacred Resonance weave a live performance using sounds and vibrations played by the plants as their live electrical data is converted into music.

The music is created by data streamed in real-time from the plants, infused and accompanied with cosmic synthesisers, crystal singing bowls, Tibetan singing bowls & other celestial sounds to create a botanical symphony.

 Choose a seat or bring own mat/cushion & warm blanket.
