About the Band...
The Drop Bears formed in 2014, their very first demo was given to a friend who sent it to a national radio station, who promptly played it, it was heard by a tour promoter and by the time the drop bears had been playing live for 5 months, they were chosen as support for USA Grunge Gods, Everclear.
12 months later, and with a bunch of headline, festival and other gigs under their belts at venues such as The Espy,  170 Russell, The Corner Hotel and Cherry Bar, and with enough material for almost three albums, and after a colossal amount of requests by promoters and fans alike to play interstate, internationally and for fans to be able to buy our music, it's time to record those songs and take their music to the the rest of Australia and the world.
The Drop Bears are five guys from Melbourne who have been slogging it out in the local pub rock scene for well over a decade.
With over 10,000 live gigs between them, Mikey, Pete, Craig, Jules and Brian formed The Drop Bears with an emphasis on getting out of the house every Wednesday night to eat pizza, talk rubbish and play instruments very loud. The rest has kinda come as a surprise. The boys have also enjoyed spreading Drop Bear Awareness and are likely personally responsible for saving many a tourist by spreading the word of this dangerous Drop Bear scourge.
And Because of a conspiracy of government denial, The Drop Bears band have taken it upon themselves to warn tourists and locals alike, becoming the unofficial information centre of The Drop Bear phenomenon. They are often heard spreading their Drop Bear Safety message... 'Look Up and Live!'
And now, they invite you to help become part of their cause to make the world, Drop Bear Aware! 

Unlike other pledge campaigns where campaigners ask solely for money, we aim to reward each pledge handsomely, with Drop Bears Merchandise.
Part of this line is Dougie The Drop Bear, available in Baby and Adult versions.
Dougie is our mascot and the first ever Drop Bear that we know of to be made available as a fully packaged commercially available soft toy. These are a very limited edition and Will run out very quick.
All pledges over $25 will also receive a free ticket to the Drop Bears first national tour.
The proceeds of our campaign will go to funding our dream of recording our debut album and promoting it, performing it live on a on a national and possibly international tour.
We estimate that 50% of all funds raised will go towards the merchandise rewards, 25% towards our recording and 25% towards our tour expenses. 

The Drop Bears Band are lucky to have in their midst one particular member with experience in international merchandise procurement, design and manufacturing. All merchandise/rewards will be manufactured from the funds raised in this campaign, by The Drop Bears contacts. This new line of Drop Bear merchandise will be sold at live shows to further make the Drop Bears self sufficient as they move towards being able to fulfill their dream of their debut album release and national and international tours and an ongoing career that hopefully pays the bills in the Australian music scene.
With your help, our challenge is to have all merchandise sent out to all pledgers, our album recorded and the band on its first national tour by the start of 2017.
