Every part of this product has been completely customised – this is a drink you want on your drinks trolley!

The back story - 

The story of HH&T is one guy – following his dream - a dream of bringing to the Australian public the first traditional, Australian owned + made absinthe - The Jezebel.

Inspired by tales passed down from his grandfather and father, and galvanised by a proud family history - Head Heart & Tales Distilling Co. harnesses the best of the land. 

The botanicals were chosen with care, and after many hours of testing and 3 years spent refining the mix - the final selection is distilled with our Other Brother wheat-based vodka.

Combining clear Victorian spring water, and distinctive grains harvested from the Australian Wheatbelt, The Jezebel is distilled locally with pride. 

So what does the Jezebel offer?

The essence of the product is that it draws the best ingredients from within Australia - small batch, a layered experience and sourced from diverse origins. Every time the bottle is opened a new story is created and the makings of an adventure are in reach.

This small-batch botanical spirit is refined sophistication – a new player to Australia's drinking culture. The Jezebel is making her statement with every pour. 

Following the recipe of The Jezebel, 8 botanicals have been sourced and expertly blended creating a thoroughly ancient but shockingly modern taste for this fine absinthe. Whether it is a refreshing coupe of 'Death in the Afternoon', a moody Sezerac transporting you to the bars of New Orleans; or the tried and true water and sugar combination - The Jezebel introduces you to a new way of drinking this much misaligned spirit.

Through sourcing, experimentation and detailed research we have achieved our goal - successfully bringing together - a tale, a recipe, a journey - using considered elements to tell this story.

The custom artwork capturing The Jezebel was commissioned and undertaken by a New York based illustrator, managed from Melbourne with a great team of creatives driving the project. This collaboration internationally continued through the sourcing of the hand-made bottles and the perfect timber cap to finish the story.

The final packaging – saw us work closer to home - with all our marketing assets letterpressed in Collingwood; the bottle bag printed and hand folded one-by-one in Port Melbourne. The foiled, individually numbered tamper seals printed by a great guy (with a tale or two to tell himself) with over 40 years experience at the printing press. 

Every bottle of The Jezebel is uniquely crafted, touched and personalized.  Hand assembled - coin attached, bag slid up and the individually numbered tamper seal adhered. 

The final bottle is – tactile – with a weightiness, a significance and all the qualities of a boutique product.

This attention to detail was key to our philosophy as an emerging brand - building collaborations, supporting Australian businesses and celebrating Australian produce - to holistically create and market a product which has not been done before in Australia.

The journey from idea to reality has been rather expensive. At this stage no outside sources of funds have been used to get the project to where it stands today - therefore every dollar spent to date has been carefully considered. 

This in no way means cheapest is best, funds have been spent according to the labels philosophy - locally sourced, high quality, craft, close proximity and environmentally responsible.

Beyond that, there are the day-to-day operational duties to maintain a high-end craft spirit, along with bringing you The Other Brother vodka (the base from which The Jezebel is made) down the track a little.
