Help build the Earthmob Outpost Hub Project

Maayong adlaw Ka-Balangaw! Mahayag nga Kasing-kasing!

As I'm writing this, the weather is in gloom with gentle rain—it’s the monsoon season. The sound of rain falling on the thatch roof must be like how the ant hears it when sheltered under the canopy of leaves. I've been living here in the coastal forest jungle of the Malkootha Creative Sanctuary—a small landscape where we are called to realize a dream of co-creating a space for creative and healing retreats. As Malkootha Custodians, we follow the inner calling to trust this ongoing process of collaborative creation, to manifest an intimate space where we hope to co-facilitate workshops that will be helpful for others who share this aspiration with us.

Since we started this land custodianship project early this year, we’ve been in bliss with inspiration, yet we know that our limited financial resources at this stage are not enough to meet the practical needs for development. Still, we rest in the process and allow the growing branches of support and care from our network of friends to nourish the cultivation of this space. And so, as another small step, we are launching this fundraising campaign to help build a co-working space on the property—a small hub that will serve as the basecamp for our work at Kuno.Earth and Baryo Balangaw Creative Initiatives, the two organizations we coordinate for groundwork related to environmental conservation and creative recovery workshops.

We are building a tiny hut so we can begin living in the forest jungle and continue cultivating the area. It’s a small paradise located above a jungle cliffside along the coastal fringe highway, overlooking the Sulu Sea, gifting us with daily sunset views in good weather. We support local folks to help with the building—in this way, it helps reciprocate the energy of communal work. I’ve lived in the most basic way here, and now with three adopted kittens—one of whom is a Miracle Kitten, whom I found almost lifeless and drenched in a puddle of rainwater one wild, stormy evening. I helped resuscitate her back to life, inspired by the mighty courage of her heart to live. She has gained a new life and brings inspiration to my days.

The complexity of the world’s chaos is silenced within the embrace of the forest jungle. I truly believe in the purpose of this little pocket of land, which can help enliven the spirit-vitality within us and awaken a renewed courage to live with meaning and purpose.

I hope you will take a moment to read through our letter and consider ways to help. Your kind support will go a long way. We believe in the multiplication of bliss—so please consider extending this letter to your circle of friends who may be moved to help us build this Earthmob Outpost.
