The Samitomato Story 

Hi, my name is Sam Simpson-Morgan, I am an artist and creator of Samitomato® drawing games. I am passionate about designing fun tools to help make drawing easy and fun, especially for kids 4yrs+! You can read the Samitomato story here and follow the @samitomato socials here!

After years of delighting kids 4yrs+ with drawing and developing and building Samitomato card drawing games, it's time to bring the IOS mobile and tablet app version into the world in 2024! I am re-launching the crowdfunder that didn't make its target last December, with a smaller, more achievable target. In return for your generous pledge, you can receive cool creative rewards to help Samitomato to delight more kids with drawing, across the world!

Whilst the Samitomato mobile app will never replace the much loved Samitomato physical drawing card games, the Samitomato drawing app WILL provide a sleek, simple, condensed, visually beautiful mobile form of Samitomato drawing games that you can take anywhere you can take your iphone or iPad, with 9 million possible hilarious fun phrases to draw!

Currently Samitomato drawing games function by helping kids to draw when they can't think what to draw.

Kids 4 yrs+ roll the dice four times to generate one of 810,000 hilarious fun phrases to draw such as; 'a slow pink striped horse eating pizza', 'a happy glittery spider making pancakes', 'a pretty floral patterned dinosaur knitting' and 'an excited lemon yellow owl drinking tea'. They provide hours (if not months) of creative drawing joy!

Why a Samitomato app version?

Whilst a great strength of Samitomato drawing games is that they are screen free, physical card games, there are geographical regions that are currently very expensive or prohibitive to ship physical Samitomato drawing card games to. This is where the iPhone/ipad app will come in! 

The Samitomato mobile app will provide a fun, simple, cost effective version of Samitomato drawing games and inspire kids with creative drawing anywhere where using a physical game is difficult or that currently have barriers to ship a physical product to, due to shipping costs, geographical barriers or packaging/customs regulations.

The app will be perfect for entertaining kids 4yrs+ with creative drawing anywhere that Samitomato card games and dice could be messy and complicated; on a plane, in a windy place, whilst travelling, in the classroom or out at a cafe/restaurant! Just bring your iphone or ipad and whatever you want to draw on and with, the Samitomato drawing app will bring the hilarious fun drawing inspiration!

The Samitomato mobile app will remain a beautifully designed prompter only, the aim is to inspire creative drawing, so kids will still be free to draw with whatever and on whatever surface they wish and it will sit alongside all the Samitomato drawing card games, so that you can choose whether you'd like to use a physical or digital verison of Samitomato drawing games!

Budget Overview

I am aiming to raise $200+, to provide extra funds towards the Samitomato app management and deployment budget.

The Samitomato iphone and ipad app has been built by students at UNSW as part of the PX Project, for which I am immensely grateful, yet there will be ongoing costs with deploying the app to the App store and with on going mainentenance and management in 2025.

$200-$500 will help with app management for the first three months of 2025.

$500-1000 will help with app managment and allow Samitomato to change to sustainable box packaging for the physical card game to allow expansion into more retail stores. 

Any amounts above this will be invested in Samitomato's growth in both apps and physical games, to delight kids with drawing across the globe.
