Help Me Adopt Cece the Orangutan!
Hi
My name is Lozz Benson and I front my own blues and rockabilly band That Red Head
I am hoping you will join me to help raise awareness and money for something that I believe is a worthwhile cause.
The Orangutan Project is a non for profit organisation that supports orangutan conservation, rainforest protection and the rehabilitation and reintroduction of displaced orangutans back into the wild, in order to save the species from extinction.
On the 11th November, my band will be playing a fundraiser gig called GO RED FOR RED HEADS to help raise awareness and funds for the Orangutan Project. As part of this, I am hoping to adopt a 2 year old female orphaned orangutan named Cece located in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia.
Orangutan mothers are often killed and their infants sold illegally as pets on the black market. These orphans are also a tragic result of the relentless habitat destruction in Indonesia.
Cece was confiscated from a theme park in North Sumatra in 2015. She was being housed in a small cage and needed immediate treatment and proper care when she was found. She was taken to the Quarantine Centre run by the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program.
The Orangutan Project provides critical funding to this centre and help care for the many orphans. They receive high quality care and nutritional food. Rehabilitation training is a critical aspect of their care and over 200 orphaned orangutans have now been returned to the wild.
I am hoping you will help me achieve my goal to raise a one off payment of $75 to adopt Cece.
Any extra money I raise will go directly to saving the Thirty Hills Forest.
The reduction of the rainforest accounts for approximately 20% of global warming, which is more than all the transport systems in the world put together. These gorgeous rainforests in Borneo and Sumatra are home to many species of animals that are disappearing at such an alarming rate due to illegal logging, mining, poaching, fires, palm oil plantations and land clearing. Leasing and protecting the forest is one of the most effective ways we can save orangutans and other species such as Sumatran Tigers, Elephants, Sun Bears, Clouded Leopards and Marbled Cats. They animals are all CRITICALLY ENDANGERED, and the way its heading they will eventually be extinct in the wild.
Saving the rainforest is THE SINGLE most cost-effective way to save our planet.
Please help me raise this amount to make a small difference in the world!
Thanks for your support.

If its a $1 or $10 donation, it all helps in a massive way and I am so thankful for your help!
If you can't donate, please share my video with your friends and share the love and awareness about orangutans!
Potential Challenges
I know that some people might not be able to make our gig on the 11th November, which is why I have created this pozible. When I first started doing some research about the orangutans I really got emotional about the fact that these gorgeous creatures are nearly EXTINCT IN THE WILD! They are critically endangered and the Orangutan Project helps to rehabilitate and release them. On top of that, they are trying to save their forest home. Lets try and raise some funds to purchase land and give these guys a home.
