Staying warm during winter and having running water is something many of us take for granted.

My name is Tom Hearn, I'm a documentary filmmaker from Australia. I'm having a break from my normal work and exploring Peru with my wife Lanni and our baby son Gabriel who is 6 months old.  We are in Cusco and when we happened upon the children from the little community of Tankarpata in Cusco we knew we had to do something to help out.  

Conditions for the kids here are challenging to say the least with no running water, no insulation or warm places to rest and learn. Many of the kids houses have dirt floors, no proper toilets or bathrooms and often cohabitate with domestic farm animals. When we visited last week we were instantly moved by their resilience and welcoming smiles and open loving hearts.  Meeting the passionate social change Founder Eduardo of the awesome community Org Cooperar Peru,  convinced us to work alongside him.  We responded with a video story and small campaign to activate our own family and friends and our social media communities of BushTVand Lanie Lane in Australia. 

The time to act is now. 

We only have a small window of one month before the cold really hits Cusco. It's now April 2017 and winter is fast approaching in the little village of Tankaparta in Cusco Peru and the children are in urgent need of warm clothes and blankets. Every year, children here are the first to suffer from the cold during the winter. The families have few resources to deal with the cold, the rooms have no insulation or heating. During this period, children often become ill, and contract respiratory problems. That is why during the winter, Cooperar Peru organizes a donation drive to purchase warming clothes and other goods such as blankets, drinking water, school resources and shoes.  

100% of all funds goes direct to the children to purchase the follwoing items :

Blankets, warm clothes, shoes, school resources, drinking water, first aid supplies, after school snacks such as fruit and bread. 

By donating even just a small amount to this special campaign you can make a major difference in the lives of these children.

100% of your donations goes to the kids of Tankarpata but we are only scratching the surface with this small campaign. The greatest challenges are supplying fresh running water for drinking and sewerage. Maybe next time we are here we can band together and work on this bigger challenge!
