WHY?

We would love you to help us make Lakeside Carols 2018 happen, why? Simply because the world will be a better place with Lakeside Carols in it. 

Get yourself in the holiday spirit the right way by kicking off the Christmas season with an evening singing Christmas songs in your local community. Welcome to all-comers we promise an evening of fun, warmth, laughter and song in the beautiful Lakeside community that we all know and love. 

There are three pillars to our event:

1. Community - There is currently no community Christmas carols held in the whole of the city of Port Phillip. Our neighbouring municipalities have community carols and we would like to bring OUR community in a secular setting to celebrate both this wonderful time of year and our beautiful Port Phillip family.

2. Charity - We are thrilled to have St Kilda Mums on board as our charity partner and we are excited to be contributing to the important work they do locally and across the state. Please go to stkildamums.org for more information about this amazing charity.

3. Connection - We are currrently facing a global crisis of disconnection, levels of lonliness are rising and if we have the opportunity to bring people together for shared meaningful experiences, we must. As humans, we are wired for connection, we thrive on it and bringing people together to celebrate the holiday season with nourish and support us all.

WHAT? WHERE? WHEN?

Lakeside Carols will be held on 6th December, 2018 at the beautiful Lakeside Stadium (generously dontated by MSAC for the event) in Albert Park.

Running from 5-9pm, the event will include:

- Free entry for all guests (suggested gold coin donation to St Kilda Mums)

- Opportunity to purchase song books and candles

- Activities for kids and the whole family

- 2 hours of professional musical performances with some of Melbourne's biggest stars sharing the stage singing some of the biggest and best Christmas songs

- Food trucks and bar facilities

- A special visit from Santa! 

- Walk home after the event with the spirit of community and Christmas ringing in your ears and hearts! 

The most important thing to remember about Lakeside Carols is that we do not want to make a cent of profit from it - we are doing this for the love of bringing our special community together at our favourite time of the year! We are running this event as a Not For Profit event. 

We have estimated we need to generate around $50k to make this event a success and simply cover our hard costs (such as equipment hire, artist fees, security, marketing).

In addition, it is our deep hope that St Kilda Mums will receive at least $5000 to support their wonderful work around Melbourne. This donation will be generated both in the way of gold coin donations upon entry to the event, the sale of candles and songbooks and a live auction during the show.

Hard event costs are: 

- Equipment Hire - $10K

- Artist Fees - $15K

- Staffing costs for facility - $5K

- Marketing and Promotions - $10K

- Insurances, Permits and Other Costs - $10K
