PAWS (PAWS Animal Welfare Society) is a non-profit animal shelter in Petaling Jaya that has been in operation since 1987. PAWS receives the surrender of unwanted dogs and cats which will be vaccinated, dewormed, neutered/spayed, and put up for adoption.

Currently, there are over 250 dogs and 250 cats under the care of the shelter. The shelter and all costs involved in running it are entirely funded by the generous donations of the public as well as proceeds from charitable events.

The PAWS team consists of three office staff, a number of part-time veterinarians, one vet assistant and seven kennel workers. PAWS is a registered Society under the Registry of Societies of Malaysia that is led by an elected committee.

This team consists of people who are animal lovers and believe that stray animals are not being treated well enough. Although non-government organisations such as SPCA and PAWS constantly receive donations from the caring public, their ultimate goal is to give every single stray a forever home. Therefore, the team had decided to build a new banner for the Paws Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) located in Subang Jaya. The current banner is small and its colour scheme does not attract the attention of passers-by. A bigger and more brightly-coloured sign is vital to raise greater awareness about the existence of such an establishment. This, we believe, would ultimately serve as a reminder for future pet owners to adopt and not shop. We are also raising money to supply the shelter with pet food and detergent.
