Your support may one day prove to save a life

Summer will soon be upon us and this year  the children in the Bay and Basin will for the first time have an opportunity to become a Nipper, through Surf Lifesaving Australia.  After receiving overwhelming support from our community for the establishment of a local Nippers club a group of parents has been working hard to get this cub up and running

The Nippers program is for children aged 5 to 13 years; it promotes water safety skills and confidence in a safe beach environment. Nippers participate in fun and interactive activities covering surf safety, first aid, and physical skills  - providing pathways for participation in both lifesaving and surf sports. In addition Surf Lifesaving NSW trains dedicated adults to co-ordinate and deliver Nippers, creating a local population with lifesaving and resuscitation experience.

The Bay & Basin Community Nippers will be based at Sailors Beach, Huskisson. Nippers and event days will run on Sundays 10 am - 12 noon from October 2016 through to March 2017. 

Our club logo was designed by Ashley Millott.  It includes the clubs mascot the Paraplesiops Bleekeri, commonly known as the Eastern Blue Devil.  The clubs colours are yellow and blue, the same colours of this colourful secretive fish which calls Jervis Bay home.  

The funds will be used to purchase equipment listed to your right to run the Bay and Basin Community Nippers Club. Additional resources will also need to be purchased such as Radios, Rope, BBQ supplies, Plastic balls and the list goes on. 

We are also happy to accept in kind donations of goods, please contact the club if you wish to discuss this further.

Our biggest challenge is the fact that we are starting the club from scratch and we will need to purchase all of the equipment required before we can start running Nippers.

Any donations made will be put towards purchasing much needed equipment.
