The Neptune Power Federation’s fourth album Memoirs of a Rat Queen continues their journey into the rock and roll house of mirrors, drawing inspiration from a vast well of yesteryear proto metal, glam rock, soul and psychedelica, then blending it into a convenient 38 minute sonic acid trip you can have delivered through your hifi system. 

Thematically the album charts the multiple lifetimes of band leader Screaming Loz Sutch, aka the Imperial Priestess, essaying her manifold battles and triumphs throughout human history. Is it the sonic biography of a time travelling witch goddess? The first feminist stoner rock album? Is it simply the soundtrack to a backyard marijuana party in Sydney’s inner west that got out of hand and stumbled into a parallel dimension? Perhaps it all these things, and for you the listener to decide. 

But for it to happen at all, we need some financial help. It will come as no surprise to hear that creating rock music doesnt pay the bills, it just generates them. Band artist Inverted CruciFox will be producing the 80 page The Illustrated Memoirs of a Rat Queen book containing all the album lyrics brought vividly to life via his trademark lowbrow art stylings.
