Hello! My name is Alan Gogoll. I'm a solo acoustic guitarist from Tasmania, Australia.

We all know the power of music and the extent to which it can both help and heal us. Recently there was a great program on Catalyst called 'Music on the Brain' that highlights just how amazing this power is.

For some time now I've wanted to write and record a gently uplifting album specifically to be played in hospitals, waiting rooms, homes and nurseries. 

Over the years it's been particularly special and moving to see the engagement of children with my music, both at live performances and from stories of parents and teachers who have played my music to either their children or students to create a calming and uplifting environment. Children's hospitals will be particulary featured on my CD distribution list. This project is not-for-profit.

The finished album will be distributed nationwide and free of charge to as many of these places as posible (several hundred) which will increase with any additional project funding.

There will also be a Website Portal where organisations can request a copy of the CD free of charge as well as being available internationally.

Having recently attended a talk on music therapy I became inspired to get the ball rolling!

The completed album will be around 50 minutes of solo guitar music that is both gentle and flowing and that also offers anyone of any age a great relaxation soundtrack to unwind to, meditate to or even do Yoga to!

I've already started to write the songs and work on the flow of the album but now I need your help to raise the money to record, print and distribute the album.

aNueNue have very kindly donated two wonderful guitars for this project to be recorded on and G7th Capos have continued their extremely generous support of my music by donating several capos as rewards.

Any additional funds will be used in the production of more CDs to distribute internationally as well as marketing and the making of music videos for each of the songs on the album.

If the additional funds are substantial (~$1,000+) then I'll organise a series of concerts and music therapy workshops to coincide with the album.
