The Paynesville Memories project has been going since December 2016.

In that time we have employed a professional oral historian, who interviewed 20 of our elder residents and recorded an amazing collection of stories about life in the town and district in the 20th Century.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters, we have also created a website: www.paynesvillememories.net.au and collected about 1000 precious photos, kindly provided by families and friends of Paynesville.

We were recognised as finalists in the Oral History Victoria 2017 awards and we now have almost 1,500 followers on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/paynesvillememories/

We want to publish a record of the project, a 48 page book, professionally printed and bound, containing a selection of stories and photographs of the town.

It will not be a boring history book. It will be a living story, told by our own senior residents and their photographs, about life in Paynesville in days gone by, which many of us still remember.

The book will be available on-line, but if you would like a "real" copy for your family to cherish, we are asking for a small contribution of $25 to pay for the design and publication costs. It's a small price for a Paynesville treasure.

If you contribute $100 or more you will have your name included as an acknowledgement in the book (if you wish), along with our other sponsors.

Your pledge is secure. If we don't raise the target of $5,000, you will pay nothing.

If you are one of the 80 original financial supporters of the Paynesville Memories project, you don't need to make a pledge. You deserve your reward and will receive a copy of the book for no extra payment.

Thank you to all the supporters and followers of Paynesville Memories. We hope the project will live on for many years.

Please pledge your contribution to make the Paynesville Memories book a reality.

Budget Overview

The design and publication cost for 300 copies of the book is about $5,700.

This consists of:

Graphic design: $2,400

Printing: $3,300

We are aiming to raise $6,000.

The few extra dollars will pay for crowd-funding commission (about 3%) and a community launch event.

The project is run by a volunteer project manager, Martin Richardson, who receives no income from the project.
